Barings Summer Internship Program

Barings is seeking candidates for a summer internship position on the Portfolio Solutions & Analytics team. This role will be focused in the areas of investment analytics and risk metrics, quantitative/mathematical model development, ESG research, or portfolio management of multi-asset, multi-strategy portfolios across the entire universe of asset classes at Barings. These roles help our investment teams make informed decisions in the areas of asset allocation and risk management and/or to design customized product solutions tailored to our clients’ individual needs.

Eligibility Criteria

• Current junior with a spring 2025 graduation date

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Internship Overview

• 10-week program

• Following the program, outstanding performers will be considered for a position in our Analyst Program upon graduation

• Bespoke training program led by external vendors

• Weekly programmatic events to allow holistic exposure to the business

Primary Responsibilities

• Market and asset class research
• Data collection and analysis
• Quantitative and statistical model development
• Operational support to portfolio managers
• Ability to work and excel in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Passion for the markets and finance
• Pursing a degree in STEM, finance, economics or business
• Curious, self-starter with an interest in continual professional and personal development
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite; especially Excel
• Experience in or exposure to one or more of the following: R, Python, VBA, SQL
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with constituents across different functional and geographic areas
