Job Summary
Barings’ is seeking an Analyst to join its Consumer/Commercial and Residential Mortgage Support team in a Loan Servicing capacity.
This position will be located in the Barings’ Charlotte, NC office and will report to a Director within the Operations group.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide residential mortgage loan closing support, working with production officers to coordinate the efficient and accurate documentation and system set-up of consumer/commercial and residential mortgage loans; this involves the coordination of input from in-house and local counsel, accounting, and valuation.
Participate in “post-closing” meetings to ensure the accurate and timely entry of mortgage loan data in the mortgage loan accounting and servicing systems and the effective entry of loan documents into the electronic document storage system.
Management of Servicer correspondence, such as, Monthly Servicer Reporting Notice of transfer letters, and/or customer complaints.
Assist in the oversight of servicers to ensure compliance with servicing agreements, reporting and notice requirements.
Assist in the asset purchase process and bulk sales for a variety of assets including mortgages, consumer loans auto loans etc.
Responsible to gather and remit in a timely, accurate, organized fashion, all materials related to Servicing Oversight as is required by all third-party auditors/regulators.
Monitor incoming remittance reports from loan servicers, import into existing systems and process/coordinate the monthly payment process on all loans
Provide assistance/support of the servicer claims processing
Participation in meetings/responding to inquires with/from the business team, servicers, lenders (clients) and other operational support teams as required
Investigation and response to inquiries arising from the business team, the lender, the servicers, and other stakeholders
Reconciliation of supporting documentation behind re-pooling, fundings, remittance from servicers, and repurchase agreement transactions
Process funding wires and book cash movements
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate finance/accounting or related fields and/or equivalent combination of education and industry experience
General depth of knowledge in lending and financing structures.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel, specifically) recommended.
Very strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
Highly developed written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
The ability to quickly learn and use various software tools, whether they are commercially standard products or developed internally.
Attention to detail as well as an appreciation of the “big picture.”
Ability to develop strong and effective relationships with various areas of the company, as well as with third party servicers as appropriate.
Quickly grasp complex residential real estate matters and handle them thoughtfully and innovatively.
