Job Title: Vice President, Portfolio Management – BlackRock Obsidian Fund

Location: 50 Hudson Yards, New York, NY 10001

Summary of duties: Perform portfolio management tasks including raising orders, handling cash flows, and monitoring positions, performance, and risk. Enhance portfolio management processes. Contribute to development and implementation of portfolio construction and reporting tools. Provide quantitative support across a wide array of sectors, including rates, derivatives, FX, asset backed securities, financing, credit, and/or equities. Assist with research projects that develop potential sources of alpha generation, investment and execution strategies, portfolio construction, and risk management. Maintain and utilize data sets used for implementation of investment strategies and market analysis. Collaborate with analytics, risk, data and technology teams to drive improvements in systems, investment and trading processes, especially in a research context.

Qualifications: Master's degree in Financial Engineering, Finance, or a related field, and four (4) years of experience as a Vice President, Associate, Investment Intern, Consultant, or a related role. Employer will also accept a Bachelor's degree in Financial Engineering, Finance, or a related field, and six (6) years of experience as a Vice President, Associate, Investment Intern, Consultant, or a related role. Four (4) years of experience with: conducting quantitative research to generate innovative insights to support business in data driven decision making and create metrics to evaluate business results using SQL, Matlab, R, and Python; building statistical and machine learning models and implementing the models into the business workflow; acquiring alternative datasets and participating in data value/vetting exercise using cloud computing solutions; building automation tools and workflows to scale up business processes, mitigate investment risk, and reduce operation risks; and working closely with business stakeholders and technologists to improve the system designs. If qualifying with a Bachelor's degree, must have six (6) years of experience with the aforementioned skills.

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $184,000 – $205,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
