Business Unit Overview:
Investment and Portfolio Solutions is a global function in the Global Product Solutions business that provides actionable investment insights and portfolio consulting to help clients in how they use BlackRock's full range of products and solutions to build better portfolios.
Global Product Solutions is responsible for driving commercial investment priorities across the platform, innovating the next wave of products and solutions, accelerating iShares adoption, sharpening commercial focus on active products and helping clients build better portfolios via actionable market and portfolio insights. GPS partners closely with Client Businesses, Investment teams, and Corporate Functions to achieve the firm’s goals and objectives.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Monitor market trends, economic indicators and relevant news that affect the investment landscape to anticipate risks and opportunities.
- Create investment strategy materials to drive the commercial narratives across Active, iShares and Private Markets for institutional and wealth clients.
- Collaborate with sales, product, marketing and other functional teams to support client relationships and business development.
- Maintain and enhance databases of financial, market and team information.
- Has a strong interest in and foundational understanding of market and macroeconomic developments and how they can impact investment strategies and portfolio outcomes.
- Create portfolio analytics to support the commercialization of BlackRock products.
- A self-starter who can quickly learn new investment and portfolio analytical tools, build partnerships within global and regional teams to accomplish the tasks at hand, and support senior team members on internal and external client requests.
- Update the team’s monthly and quarterly client materials and look for ways to make the process more efficient.
- Continually expand and deepen investment, portfolio construction and BlackRock product knowledge base.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in investment, product, or portfolio research within an asset management firm or other financial institution.
- An undergraduate degree in finance, economics, accounting or other relevant fields with strong academic background and a consistent track record to synthesize sophisticated topics in an unstructured fashion.
- Intellectually curious, with a mindset of continuous learning of markets, portfolio construction and investment products.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
- High proficiency in using Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft products.
- Knowledge in using data provider/visualization/analysis tools such as Morningstar, Power BI, Bloomberg, and programming languages such as VBA and Python will be a plus.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management skills; comfortable with working across geographies, time zones and functions to optimally contribute in large working group settings.
- Organized, self-reliant, and self-motivated, with attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Demonstrates a high level of ability to work under pressure and become comfortable with ambiguity and dynamically shifting priorities, timelines, and demands.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to lead meetings and conduct effective briefings and presentations.
- Excellent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong professional integrity and ethics.
