This senior leadership position sits withinPreqin’sData Engineering/BIteam, at the heart of our mission torevolutioniseprivatemarketsdata and technology. As Vice President, you will report directly to the Director and play a pivotal role in building and scaling our data infrastructure and analytics capabilities.You will also act as anorganisationleaderandwork closely with businessstakeholdersto translate strategicobjectivesand user needs into actionable data initiatives and technical solutions.
You will combine deep technicalexpertisewithpeopleleadershipand business acumen,ensuring our data solutions are robust, innovative, and closely aligned withorganisationalgoals.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership acrossPreqin’sData Engineering/BIteam, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Architect and oversee the development of scalable, reliable data pipelines and analytics platforms, with a strong focus on Snowflake, SQL, and Python.
Prioritiseprojects and resources based on business impact and strategic alignment.
Influence and engage senior stakeholders, communicating complex technical concepts in business-relevant terms.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate strategicobjectivesinto actionable data initiatives, ensuring alignment withPreqin’sand BlackRock’s broader vision.
Champion best practices in data management, governance, and security,leveragingautomation, cloud technologies, and modern engineering principles.
Drive the adoption of advanced analytics and AI/ML solutions, integrating technical innovation with business value.
Manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear communication of technical concepts and data-driven strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Oversee project delivery,prioritisingwork based on businessimpactand data-driven insights.
Promote a collaborative environment, bridging the gap between technical and business teams.
About You
Proven experience ina seniordata leadership or principal technical role, with hands-onexpertisein Snowflake, SQL, and Python.
Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams of dataengineers orsimilar technical groups.
Strongtrack recordof working with data engineers and BI analysts.
Deep understanding of data architecture, pipeline design(preferablyDBT), and cloud platforms (Azure or AWS preferred).
Demonstrated ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in business analysis, stakeholder management, and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
Strategic thinker with a pragmatic, solution-orientedapproachand a passion for innovation.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, balancing long-term vision with immediate business needs.
Prior experience with AI/ML projects, infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform), and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
Nice to Have
Experience with global teams and multi-language environments.
Exposure to Kubernetes and advanced observability practices.
