Position Overview:
Cambridge Associates is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief of Staff, Strategy and Transformation to join Operations Leadership Team (OLT) reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). This role requires a strategic leader with deep understanding of all aspects of managing a highly complex global investment management operations organization (~370 people in 9 offices on 3 continents) and leading, among other things, Operations Strategy, Talent Management, Program Oversight, and Cross-Departmental Collaboration initiatives.
This senior role will partner closely with the COO, OLT, and key stakeholders to drive the strategic agenda and operational excellence of the function.
Responsibilities:
· Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the COO to develop and drive Operations vision and multi-year strategic transformation.
· Target Operating Model: Working in close collaboration with OLT oversee and continue advancing Target Operating Model, responsible for managing individual components of the Operating Model including Innovation Program, Talent Transformation, Flexible Resourcing Strategy, and Optimization.
· Stakeholder Engagement: Map out stakeholder engagement strategy to optimize relationships with key stakeholders across the firm, including Global Investment Leadership, Research, Technology, Finance, and Risk and Compliance. Partner with OLT in executing on that strategy.
· Financial Management: Oversee departmental financials including Budgets, Forecasts and Cost Management initiatives.
· Performance Monitoring: Develop key metrics, track progress and identify areas for improvement.
· Program Management: Provide oversight for cross-functional and cross-departmental programs including identifying and mitigating program-level risks and issues, managing the stakeholders, ensuring resource capacity, and managing the interdependencies.
· Communication: Formulate and execute a stakeholder management communication strategy, ensuring timely and effective information sharing with both internal and firm-wide audience. Act as a liaison with various teams to gather data and insights, informing strategic decisions and initiatives.
· Talent Strategy: Liaise with Human Capital to implement initiatives related to talent retention, recruiting, culture, engagement, learning and development, and location strategy.
· Leadership Team Coordination: Prioritize and coordinate the agenda for the Operations Leadership Team, ensuring strategic focus and alignment.
· Strategic Vendors Oversight: Build and manage the framework of oversight and governance.
Qualifications:
· 10-15 years of experience in a similar role
· Background in Investment Management industry a must
· Experience in Investment Management Operations is a strong plus.
· Must be proactive, detail-oriented and have strong multi-tasking skills
· Independent decision maker
· Proven track record driving strategy and transformation
· Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
· Strong relationship building skills all around, upwards, sideways, and downwards.
· Ability to lead and inspire and be hands-on at the same time.
