Position Summary:
The Cambridge Associates Sustainable and Impact Investing (SII) Group is dedicated to assisting clients in the broad area of sustainable and impact investing and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) across asset classes and thematic areas such as climate change and social equity. The SII Research Team conducts extensive due diligence on fund managers across asset classes and identifies best-in-class investment ideas for clients looking to incorporate sustainability and impact, manager diversity and/or ESG into their investment portfolios.
We are currently seeking a full-time Investment Analyst to support the SII Research Team. The Investment Analyst will conduct research across the spectrum of impact and sustainable investing, which will also include diverse manager investing and investing at the intersection of multiple sustainability and/or impact themes (e.g., health and wellness, affordable housing, sustainable infrastructure, education and workforce training, financial inclusion). The Investment Analyst will have three primary responsibilities: (1) research impact managers across asset classes (e.g., private investments (venture capital and private equity), public equities, credit, real assets) in coordination with Research Investment Director(s); (2) drive processes of the SII Team through general operational, analytical, and research support alongside fellow Investment Analysts; (3) ad-hoc client team support in collaboration with Investment Director(s).
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct investment manager research and prepare written deliverables for use by investment directors and clients. Research activities include active participation in meetings with fund managers, reference calls, due diligence project management, data analysis, and written deliverables (e.g. notes, memos, and detailed diligence reports).
· Provide support to Research Investment Director(s), which includes quantitative and qualitative research projects in addition to the support and/or leading of investment due diligence processes as assigned.
· Play a key role in developing and maintaining internal content related to sustainable and impact investing, ESG, and diverse manager investing, which could include business development and training materials as well as other operational or analytical tasks.
· Serve as a resource to and complete requests for client teams considering or investing across sustainability and impact, ESG, and/or diverse manager investing strategies.
· Work on thematic projects, such as published research reports and PowerPoint presentations, which enhance colleagues’ and clients’ knowledge of relevant topics.
· Present primarily to internal audiences to share research findings and investment ideas
Qualifications:
· 1-2 years of work or related internship experience preferred, but not required
· Bachelor’s degree with a record of high academic achievement
· Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and interest in investing and the capital markets
· Familiarity with and keen interest in sustainable and impact investing (including manager diversity, ESG, and/or other impact themes noted above)
· Collaborative, coachable team-player with strong oral and written communication skills, and a desire for continuous improvement and growth
· Open-minded mindset and evinced personal and/or professional commitment to diversity of thought and perspective
· Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
· Strong writing capabilities
· Strong project management and organizational skills: ability to work independently and assign priorities to multiple concurrent, competing requests, while ensuring their integrity, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. Experience with productivity tools such as Asana and database management preferred, but not required
· All candidates must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
The base salary range for this role is $80,000-$88,500 In addition to the listed salary range, this position is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus and a comprehensive, competitive benefits package. Actual placement within the stated salary range will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as internal equity.
