We are hiring an APAC Lead in the Global Portfolio Services division, and the role will be based in our Singapore office.

Position Overview

The APAC Lead is a senior member of the Global Portfolio Services, Portfolio Implementation Management (PIM) team. The critical role is a member of both the regional practice and EMEA APAC Operations Leadership Team, bringing oversight and subject matter expertise to members of the APAC Operations Team and representing their role in practice matters. The Lead is accountable for all members of the APAC PIM and Transaction Services (TS) team members, and both the development and implementation of standard operating principles. The APAC Lead is responsible for identifying risks and opportunities for increased efficiencies and sponsoring and supporting regional-specific needs and initiatives within the Operating Model construct.

The APAC Lead is responsible for PIM and TS, partnering with the EMEA APAC Operational Leadership Team on training, talent development, determining staffing needs and client assignments in close coordination with regional practice leadership.

The APAC Lead has direct management responsibilities, including annual performance reviews, accountability and day-to-day management for all members of the PIM and TS teams.

Job Responsibilities

Oversight & Accountability

  • Lead as a subject matter expert and serve as a main point of escalation on non-standard, high-risk client portfolio issues.
  • Support a book of client portfolios to ensure continued awareness of trade implementation and execution responsibilities.
  • Maintain an understanding of onboarding and implementation plans for client portfolios across the region.
  • Work closely with EMEA APAC Operations Leadership and regional practice leadership on short and long-term staffing plans, including succession planning.
  • Ensure processes and support models across all clients and portfolios within the region are defined and aligned with standard operating principles.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholders within the region on all implementation, service offering, and business development needs.

Internal & External Stakeholder Relationship Management

  • Foster strong collaboration and relationships between PIM, TS and other internal stakeholder, particularly between the investment teams and operations.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, provide operational and implementation advice. Manage and balance the needs of both external and internal stakeholders while ensuring internal processes and policies are followed.

Culture & Community

  • Create and cultivate a collaborative operations community in the region focused on increasing process and portfolio implementation and execution consistency.
  • Train and develop PIM and TS team members.
  • Assume day-to-day management responsibilities of the PIM and TS teams (including navigating strategic transformation efforts across operations and the broader firm).
  • Ensure that all team members receive the same level of support, mentorship and development in the region.
  • Serve as a member of the EMEA APAC Operations Leadership Team, both participating in and leading strategic initiatives.

Operations Leadership Team

  • Continuous connection with the EMEA APAC Operations Leadership Team highlighting any nuances and needs specific to the APAC region.
  • Work with colleagues across the globe to suggest and implement enhancements to our operational model to gain efficiency and serve our clients and teams better.

Qualifications / Experience

  • 10 – 12 years of related work experience in financial services.
  • Strong leadership skills; track record of creating an engaging team environment.
  • Multi-year experience in managing large, complex projects and programs. Track record in change management and taking part in transformation projects will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing the implementation of investment transactions (including private investments, hedge funds, equities, bonds, options, futures and forwards), oversight and reconciliation of trades, cost analysis, reviewing of performance data and/ or project management preferred.
  • Deep experience in trade, custody and investment operations across asset classes, vehicle types and jurisdictions, to provide exceptional service to our colleagues and client base. Oversee daily activity of PIM and TS staff including the monitoring of workload, responsiveness, and communication between clients, investment managers, service providers, and internal team members.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and client prospects in onboarding new client business into the team while ensuring that requirements are aligned with CA’s operating service models and requirements.
  • Help navigate client inquires around transaction support and best practices with various fund vehicles.
  • Assist clients and internal stakeholders with AML/KYC requirements for transactions.
  • Attend client prospect, vendor selection, or internal meetings as a representative for Operations and build relationships with investment teams and regional leadership to ensure stakeholder needs are being met while protecting the interests of the firm.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing complex stakeholders and relationships, communicating and interacting with peers, and external contacts in an effective, tactful, professional manner.
  • Demonstrable experience of assuming the responsibility for multiple client projects and ensuring work delivery in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Fluency in Mandarin required to liaise with Mandarin speaking clients.
