Job Description Summary:

Cambridge Associates is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Director to drive lead generation and pipeline building across all client types and service offerings within a dedicated US region. This role is pivotal in expanding the firm’s reach, cultivating new relationships, and supporting the growth of our institutional and private client businesses.

Job Description:

Lead Generation & Pipeline Development

  • Proactively identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities across endowments, foundations, pensions, private clients, and other institutional segments.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospects, ensuring consistent activity and progress toward growth targets.

Relationship Building

  • Establish and nurture relationships with centers of influence (COIs), including consultants, industry associations, and key market participants within the region.
  • Engage directly with prospects to understand their needs and position Cambridge Associates’ solutions effectively.

Programmatic Sourcing

  • Collaborate with practice-wide business development programs to leverage firm-wide networks, including existing clients and investment managers.
  • Utilize internal resources and cross-functional teams to identify additional contacts and opportunities for relationship development.

Strategic Outreach

  • Represent Cambridge Associates at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to enhance visibility and generate leads.
  • Develop and execute targeted outreach campaigns in partnership with marketing and practice leaders.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with client solutions, investment, and marketing teams to ensure seamless handoff and onboarding of new clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of business development activities, pipeline status, and relationship progress in CRM systems.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to senior leadership on regional business development performance and market trends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7+ years of business development experience in financial services, investment management, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of lead generation, relationship management, and sales pipeline development.
  • Deep understanding of institutional and private client segments, with established networks in the assigned region.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to travel within the region as needed.
  • Bilingual, Spanish speaker a plus

Base salary range for this role:

Pay Range Minimum:

136600

Pay Range Maximum:

183000

In addition to the listed salary range, this position is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus and a comprehensive, competitive benefits package. Actual placement within the stated salary range will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as internal equity.
