Personal Banking & Wealth Management Technology (PBWMT) Analyst Program Program Overview You’re the brains behind our work. You’re ready to bring your knowledge from the classroom to the scrum team, and Citi wants to help you get there. Whether it’s honing your skills or building your network, we know that success can’t come without growth. Our intensive training program equips you with the in-depth knowledge you will need to play a valuable role on your team and establish a long-term career here. Our main goals are to enable you to deliver work that makes a true impact, and to get you as much exposure to our teams as possible. We take pride in having a collaborative and inclusive culture that prizes teamwork over competition. What is Personal Banking & Wealth Management Technology? The best way to think about Personal Banking & Wealth Management Technology (PBWMT) is that we’re a tech company inside a bank. We develop software that has a variety of end users: mobile apps and websites that help our customers manage their money, desktop software that allows our customer service agents to provide help and advice, and internal databases, microservices and tools that teams at Citi rely upon every day. Our teams build, own and support many front-end, middle-tier and back-end applications that are used around the world. Many teams operate on a “follow-the-sun” model and are required to have their applications running 24/7 with support for regular releases (often monthly). Program Description We provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to succeed. We’re committed to teaching you the ropes. The two-year Analyst Program starts in July and begins with six weeks of in-class training, followed by two rotations of one year each. We will help place you into a rotation that matches your skills and career interests, most likely in one of our two core roles: - Software Engineer: You’d be placed in an Agile development team, building software that impacts millions via consumer applications, customer service channels and internal software. Most teams operate in two- or four-week sprints, building software for a series of major and minor releases throughout the year. o While technologies can vary slightly from team to team, our Software Engineer roles typically focus on Web (Angular or React), Microservices (Java, Spring), iOS (Swift, Xcode) or Android (Java, Kotlin). - Data Engineer: You’d be responsible for building and maintaining systems where data lives and configuring applications. You would also focus on upgrades and patches to keep data software current. You would also work with data scientists to understand and interpret complex data sets. o While technologies can vary slightly from team to team, our Data Engineering roles typically focus on Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Abinitio, Snowflake, Hbase, PySpark, Scala, Oracle, Teradata and MongoDB. - As part of a rotational program, you’ll have the ability to experience both of these roles, or to deepen your skillset within one of them. No matter what you choose, our rotational program will help you discover the best fit for your skills and long-term career goals at Citi. Post-program, you’ll have the chance to continue focusing on engineering roles or shift into positions focused on Product Management, Technical Program Management or Architecture, among others. Qualifications We want to hear from you if… You are a final year student or have obtained an undergraduate degree in a technology-related discipline. Degrees in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering and other technology-focused degrees are preferred. You graduated with or are on track for at least 60% marks from a top academic institution (no active backs). Skills & Competencies Who will be a great fit here… A dedication to learning and a true passion for the business are vital. As industries all over the globe continue to restructure and grow, we are hiring professionals who have a global perspective on the future of banking, and want to make an impact on the corporate level. We value diversity and so do you. We’ll also be looking for the following: • Demonstrated technical skills aligned to one of the roles detailed above (Software Engineer or Data Engineer). • Commitment to personal growth and career development, a strong desire to learn, and success in team environments. • Strong planning and organizational skills. • Desire to develop a deep understanding of the financial industry. • Unquestioned commitment to ethical decision-making. • You are a good team player with a highly collaborative nature. • Passionate about technology. • Ability to multi-task with sharp problem solving skills. • Strong communicator, able to build relationships and rapport easily. • Adaptable and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. • Positive attitude and keen to learn. • Ability to work under time constraints.
