Your opportunity
The Principal Architect – Cloud is a senior technical leader responsible for designing and guiding enterprise cloud architecture across Microsoft Azure as a key member of Infrastructure Architecture team. This role demands deep hands-on expertise in cloud infrastructure, networking, identity, container platforms, and integration patterns. The architect will lead strategic initiatives including Azure Landing Zones, cloud migrations, Kubernetes-based microservices, SD-WAN/SASE integration, API architecture, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, while working closely with the Head of Strategy, Architecture & Platform Engineering.
Cloud Architecture & Strategy
- Define and evolve enterprise cloud architecture standards, reference models, and reusable patterns
- Architect scalable, secure, and cost-optimized solutions across Azure IaaS, PaaS, and container platforms
- Lead cloud modernization initiatives including migration of legacy workloads to Azure
- Collaborate with leadership to align cloud architecture with business and platform engineering strategy
Azure Expertise
- Design and implement Azure Landing Zones with governance, security, and subscription strategy
- Architect solutions using Azure services: App Services, AKS, Functions, Logic Apps, Storage, Networking
- Lead multi-region, high-availability, and disaster recovery architecture
- Define tagging, policy, and resource hierarchy strategies for enterprise-scale environments
Kubernetes & Microservices
- Architect and guide deployment of microservices on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Define service mesh, ingress, autoscaling, and observability strategies
- Ensure cloud-native design principles and DevSecOps integration
- Optimize container orchestration and runtime performance
Cloud Networking & Connectivity
- Design and implement complex Azure networking: VNets, peering, ExpressRoute, VPN, firewalls, private endpoints
- Architect secure connectivity between cloud and on-premises environments
- Integrate SD-WAN and SASE solutions for secure, scalable edge connectivity
- Lead network segmentation, routing, DNS, and traffic management strategies
Identity & Access Management
- Architect and manage Cloud Entra ID (Azure AD) for identity federation and access control
- Implement SSO, RBAC, conditional access, and multi-tenant identity models
- Ensure secure integration of identity across cloud services and applications
Cloud Migration
- Lead migration strategy and execution from on-premises data centers to Azure
- Define migration waves, landing zone readiness, and workload prioritization
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to ensure smooth transitions
API Integration & Design
- Design and govern enterprise API architecture for cloud-native and hybrid applications
- Define standards for API security, versioning, throttling, and lifecycle management
- Integrate APIs across internal platforms, third-party services, and edge environments
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) & Automation
- Lead IaC strategy and implementation using Terraform (preferred), Bicep, or ARM templates
- Define reusable modules, state management, and secure provisioning workflows
- Integrate IaC into CI/CD pipelines and platform automation frameworks
Governance, Monitoring & Optimization
- Define cloud governance frameworks and operational guardrails and Align to Enterprise Architecture Guild and Tech Architecture Board (TAB) representation from Infrastructure Architecture team.
- Architect observability solutions using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights
- Lead cost optimization and FinOps practices across cloud environments

Must have skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering, with deep Azure expertise
- Proven experience designing enterprise-scale solutions using Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, and microservices
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, SD-WAN, SASE, identity, security, and automation
- Expert-level proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code practices
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills

- CKA/CKAD: Certified Kubernetes Administrator/Developer
- SC-300: Identity & Access Administrator Associate
