Kirkland & Ellis is seeking a Legal Recruiting Assistant to join our Legal Recruiting and Development team in Washington, DC. This is a dynamic role supporting key campus recruiting activities and helping ensure a smooth and engaging experience for law students and attorney candidates. Whether you're just starting your career or bringing prior administrative experience, this position offers a chance to grow within a high-performing and collaborative team.
In this role, you’ll be an essential part of the recruiting process, helping ensure every detail is managed and every candidate interaction is seamless.

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position in Washington D.C. This range may differ based on your geographic location and cost of living considerations. At Kirkland & Ellis, we consider compensation more than just a base salary. In this role, you’ll be an essential part of the recruiting process, helping ensure every detail is managed and every candidate interaction is seamless.
In This Role, You Will
- Coordinate interview schedules, prepare materials, and support communications throughout the recruiting process
- Track candidate data and maintain dashboards to keep our team organized and informed
- Assist with on-campus interview logistics and manage resume submissions from law schools and job boards
- Maintain recruiting calendars and provide scheduling support to the team
- Help plan and execute campus engagement activities and firmwide recruiting events
- Facilitate summer associate assignments, trainings, and social events
- Provide support for lateral recruitment and New Associate Orientation
- Process expenses, track invoices, and support database maintenance and reporting
- Jump in on a variety of administrative and project-based tasks to keep things running smoothly
We’re looking for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to make a big impact and brings:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- At least one year of administrative experience, preferably in a professional services or law firm setting
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, professional approach and a commitment to delivering exceptional internal client service
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, and Outlook); familiarity with applicant tracking systems like ViDesktop is a plus
