Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to join our esteemed team at Legal and General Investment Management (LGIM). This pivotal role is integral to maintaining and advancing our Finance data strategy, ensuring that data is efficiently sourced, processed, and maintained to meet the evolving needs of our Finance department and its stakeholders.
As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the Finance Data Architect on critical projects focused on data strategy and governance. You will manage data processes and automation, provide expert advice, and implement data solutions to enhance our technology stack. Engaging in data discussions with internal stakeholders will also be a crucial part of your responsibilities.

What you'll be doing:
- Developing strong working relationships with stakeholders across other LGIM functions to efficiently source data required by the Finance department with minimal manual intervention
- Collaborating with Senior Finance Managers and Business Stakeholders to understand data requirements, prioritize enhancements, and ensure effective and controlled implementation of changes
- Providing technical support to finance teams to enable accurate and consistent data extraction and reporting from core systems, minimizing manual data entry
- Ensuring data structures are consistent and optimized across various systems and databases used within the Finance function
- Designing, analysing, and maintaining processes and procedures to document data structures clearly and concisely
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
- A graduate in Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field is desirable
- Experience in a development project within a Finance function
- Proficiency in data programming and visualization tools such as SQL, VBA, and Python.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deliver under pressure and provide informed responses in short timeframes
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with stakeholders
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., Sybase ASE, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and Not Only SQL databases (e.g., InterSystems Cache)
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT Tools (e.g., Wherescape, Alteryx, Birst, Streamsets, Informatica PowerCenter) and BI/Reporting Tools (e.g., Birst, Tableau, BusinessObjects)
- Knowledge of general programming (e.g., Python, R, Java, C#) and Big Data Platforms (e.g., Cloudera Data Hub)
