Overview
The research Analyst - HY provides fundamental research to support investment recommendations for LGIMA’s High Yield Corporate Bond portfolios.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update financial models
- Review financial statements, investment offering memorandums, and third party research
- Assist in the preparation of research reports using qualitative and quantitative analytical tools
- Assist in the preparation of research industry sector reviews for portfolio manager.
- Assist in the production of Issuer High Yield templates including probability of rating outcomes
- Assist in the production of research materials to be used for marketing purposes
- Listen to company conference calls in order to increase market knowledge and update internal information
- Represent LGIMA in a professional manner at company presentations and/or industry conferences
- Complete ad hoc projects that assist the US IG Fixed Income Research team
- Complete High Yield templates and regularly update with new information
- Work with Portfolio Managers to evaluate all new issues within your coverage universe
- Work with Investment Grade counterparts to identify rising star and fallen angel candidates
- Provide timely, accurate published research on events that have the potential to alter either the credit quality of an issuer or the valuation of the issuer’s securities
- Maintain financial models on assigned coverage universe
- Produce materials and present deep dive issuer research to PMs on an ad hoc basis
- Collaborate with sector analysts in other asset classes on special topics or other thematic-based research via the Global Research and Engagement Groups
- Provide input on regular deliverables to clients (e.g., stress tests, watch lists, and other scenario-based research)
Qualifications
- Familiarity with intermediate-to-advanced accounting principles
- Familiarity with economic principles
- Experience analyzing sector fundamentals and developing external information networks
- Experience modeling corporate financial statements
- Ability to identify and measure company fundamental profit and cash flow drivers
- Experience of analyzing data and information with a high degree of complexity
- Experience working in recognized investment institution ideally within front office roles
- An understanding of the fundamentals of the investment industry and the role of analysts and portfolio managers
- Advanced level of PC skills including Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent analytical ability
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent report writing skills
Salary Range
140,000-175,000
The starting salary offer will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s education, job-related experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location, and market factors. This position is also eligible to participate in the company’s annual discretionary bonus plan.
