Overview

The Private Credit Operations Manager will manage and oversee the Private Credit deal flow activities including all associated tasks relating to pipeline, managing of trades and settlements. They will design and implement corporate governance policies and procedures covering all business lines in Private Credit to ensure a robust operational framework and be an integral part of business wide projects.

This role is a management position and will lead junior associate(s) ensuring they are well supported and complete their tasks set by the operations manager. They will manage oversight of outsourced loan administrators and fund accountants, including monitoring of KPIs.

They will provide accurate, timely and complete management information to various stakeholders within the business. They will act as the interface between L&G Private Credit front office and outsourced fund accounting/ L&G's Investment Operations teams to ensure transaction information is accurately appraised and communicated to the outsourced fund accounting/ L&G Investment Operations team for processing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Private Credit deal flow activities including all associated tasks relating to pipeline, managing of trades and settlements.
  • Design and implement corporate governance policies and procedures covering all business lines in Private Credit to ensure a robust operational framework and be an integral part of business wide projects.
  • Manage oversight of outsourced loan administrators and fund accountants, including monitoring of KPIs.
  • Provide accurate, timely and complete management information to various stakeholders within the business.
  • Act as the interface between LGIM Private Credit front office and outsourced fund accounting/ LGIM’s Investment Operations teams to ensure transaction information is accurately appraised and communicated to the outsourced fund accounting/ LGIM Investment Operations team for processing.
  • Identify, design and implement improved and enhanced controls around existing operating policies and procedures; design and implement controls for new policies and procedures to cater for business growth/investment in new sectors.
  • Ensure that the policies and procedures sufficiently address the business needs of efficiency whilst retaining sufficient control, segregation of duties and compliance requirements.
  • Liaise with Compliance, Legal, Operations, Client Relationship Management and other areas of the business to ensure that procedures are complete, up to date and appropriately address the risks in the business.
  • Perform regular gap and risk analysis to identify and address unknown risks to the business.
  • Liaise with Business Analysts and IT to ensure that IT solutions contribute to a robust operating platform in the context of the overall control environment.
  • Monitor and review performance of outsourced service providers including quarterly performance against KPIs and improvements or amendments to procedures.
  • Act as interface between outsourced loan/service providers and the investment team to ensure transaction information is accurately appraised and communicated to the outsourced service provider.
  • Initiate projects required to implement or amend processes within the Private Credit Business or as they impact the wider LGIM Real Assets team.
  • Create and maintain books of investment record that agree to LGIM Private Credit fund accounting record and report and analyse AUM and performance to management and clients.
  • You will be a key point of contact with the relevant third party relationship for external funds (eg external fund accountants, managing agents, trustees and Depositaries) and responsible for maintaining effective oversight of third party relationships.
  • Ensure adequate finance procedures are in place and implement improved procedures where necessary, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including the Alternative Investment Fund Management Directive.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Professional ACA, ACCA or CIMA (qualified).
  • Private Credit and/or Investment Management experience advantageous.
  • IFRS skills.
  • Implementing funds from first close through to investment and disposal.
  • In depth knowledge and experience of debt fund accounting.
  • Financial analysis/financial covenant appraisals of corporate entities.
  • Experience of leading a team.
  • MiFID II knowledge/ experience advantageous.
  • Ability to advise, persuade and influence fund managers in an ambiguous and / or changing environment.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Ability to grasp issues, find creative and innovative solutions to problems.
  • Ability to present to senior management, fund managers and investors.
  • Developed decision making skills.
  • Confident networking across Front Office and Business Development.
  • Experience of managing and delivering within a changing environment.
  • Proven track record of dealing with and influencing across an organisation to achieve objectives especially in respect of Senior Management and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic and focused approach to delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Evidence of effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to multi-task in a fast paced and changeable environment to ensure deadlines are met within short time frames.

Salary Range

$110,000-130,000

The starting salary offer will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s education, job-related experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location, and market factors. This position is also eligible to participate in the company’s annual discretionary bonus plan.
