Overview
The primary function of the Asset Services Oversight team is to proactively manage and oversee third-party providers in Asset Servicing activities (Third parties include, material outsourcers, Product providers and appointed custodians). This is alongside ensuring all services (incl. Income, Proxy, Claims (Market / Repo and Interest), Corporate Actions (Inc Class Actions) and Asset Transfers within Funds/Sub Funds) are effectively managed and processed in accordance with market deadlines and industry best practise, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and quality control.
Responsibilities
- To complete all asset service oversight and retained activities (incl. Income (associated Withholding tax/reclaim processes), Claims, Corporate Actions, Proxy and Class actions and Asset Transfers within Funds/Sub Funds) in line with internal and external market deadlines, policies, procedures. Closely overseeing and governing Asset servicing activity in conjunction with outsourced service provider to support LGIM’s global trading activities and client service delivery.
- Work in partnership and collaboration with team members and outsourced provider to ensure daily tasks are completed in line with agreed service standards and deadlines (incl. accuracy, timeliness, and client service measures).
- Assist the outsource provider with agreed retained services delivery for the respective service area.
- Proactively identify control weaknesses relating to asset services operating model and recommend and implement procedural and process change in partnership with team members, manager, and outsourced provider where applicable.
- Ensure end to end understanding of all operational tasks and how they relate and impact all processes. Ensure standard ways of working are applied consistently.
- To create procedures that reflect processes polices and any workflows that are needed to support the asset services process and activities for retained and outsourced services.
- Manage operational risk and issues within team and outsourced provider, regularly review and identify further opportunities for risk mitigation; ensure all functional procedures are in line with policies and regulatory requirements. Promptly and clearly articulate and inform senior management and stakeholders.
- Engage secondary service recipients (Client Service, Investments, and other Operational Teams) to ensure the service delivery is achieving standards for today and future business levels.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities to drive the development of the outsource model (focus on enhancing control effectiveness and efficiency).
- Participate in weekly service provider updates which focuses on service fulfilment and escalated issues.
- Flexible in approach to provide assistance to the wider team and department to support processes and service deliverables globally.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience within Investment Operations
- Understanding of Asset Services tasks, including Corporate Actions, Income (associated withholding tax/reclaim processes), Proxy voting and Claims
- Experience using TLM & CRIMS, CAPTAIN or Corporate Action systems
- Understanding of Outsourced Service Model
- Bachelors degree
- Demonstrated experience of the asset management industry/experience relevant to role and activities performed.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines, KPI’s, KRIs and Service Levels.
- Flexible and able to adapt to changes in the process and procedures.
- Client focussed and able to liaise with all levels of seniority internally and externally.
- Strong knowledge in the outsourced service area covering operational service delivery knowledge and client expectations.
- Industry awareness of the outsourced service area and regulations governing it.
- Experience in working with and overseeing 3rd party relationship service delivery.
- Strong influencing skills in managing relationship / client service engagement.
- Proven experience in managing operational service matters, awareness of LGIM risk and control framework.
- Customer oriented skills to understand service recipient needs and expectations.
- Proven capability to work both independently and across a team.
- Excellent planning, prioritisation, problem solving and organisation skills. Evidence of high degree of independent judgment for decision making.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to multi-task in a fast paced and changeable environment. Having a positive attitude towards change.
- Ability to work at different levels of detail, including a grasp of the bigger picture concepts and complex details.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-moving management environment with many often-conflicting demands.
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relay information clearly and concisely in both written and verbal communications.
- Experience of managing multiple initiatives/projects and change management.
- Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.

Salary Range
$90,000 - $100,000
The starting salary offer will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s education, job-related experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location, and market factors. This position is also eligible to participate in the company’s annual discretionary bonus plan.
