Role Summary:

We are expanding the IR team as we chart the next phase of M&G’s development.

We are seeking a motivated and analytically-minded Investor Relations Senior Associate to join the team. This is a unique opportunity to support the existing team members, gain hands-on experience supporting senior members of the team across the full spectrum of investor relations activity, and assume direct ownership of critical pieces of work.

They will engage with a variety of stakeholders across our business and functions, and prepare compelling, executive-level presentations for internal and external audiences. They will have access to a broad range of market resources to remain up to date and prepare regular briefings for the Executive Committee and the Board on industry-wide trends.

Success in this role requires a curious and resourceful mindset, experience in strategic thinking, superior problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent communication skills and a confident ability to work transversally across different parts of the organisation.

Key accountabilities for this role:

  • Supports Investor Relations activities and engagement with external stakeholders such as investors, analysts and credit rating agencies:
  • Reviews and analyses changes in the shareholder register
  • Prepares regular updates on market dynamics and competitors’ activity
  • Prepares information packs ahead of engagement cycles with credit rating agencies
  • Supports the preparation of material for Half-Year and Full-Year Results
  • Help preparation of Q&A material ahead of Result announcements
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Strategy and IR team and the broader business to evidence strategic narrative and equity story in preparation of Result announcements
  • Supports the development of our corporate narrative and Equity Story:
  • Provides constructive challenge to other team members and business leads based on facts and analyses
  • Helps formulate recommendations
  • Facilitates cross-functional teamwork across the organisation to bring in all relevant stakeholders and drive alignment towards achieving our strategy
  • Engages with a variety of operational stakeholders, both in Business Units and Functions, to:
  • Analyse our business performance and competitive positioning
  • Help assess growth opportunities presented by Business Unit leads or sourced by senior team members / external advisors, assess their potential, relative merits and feasibility

Key knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work closely alongside senior team members while taking ownership for designated responsibilities.
  • A good understanding of the UK asset management and insurance landscape, including major players, market dynamics, and key regulatory themes.
  • A broad knowledge of public equity and credit markets – not as an expert, but with curiosity and the foundation for rapid learning (mentorship and coaching will be provided).
  • Understanding of financial reporting standards relevant to insurance and asset management, particularly IFRS17 and Solvency II, would be highly advantageous
  • Previous exposure to rating agency processes or investor relations functions and key activities is a plus.
  • Ability to independently deliver compelling and well-structured papers and presentations for investor communications, Board level and Executive Committee level presentations
  • Ability to contribute to the development of the strategic narrative and equity story of M&G plc, supported by a good understanding of M&G and the market it operates in
  • Ability to understand the end-to-end components of the businesses within M&G plc to make connections and highlight opportunities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and manage strong relationships with other team members and internal stakeholders, gaining trust and respect

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree or professional qualification.
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience
