The Role:

To deliver Private Market fund launches and product-related projects.

We’re seeking a project manager with experience in launching investment management funds and product changes. The role focuses on delivering Private Market funds and product-related projects, requiring expertise in private assets such as Real Estate Debt, Private Credit, Alternative Assets and Leveraged Loans.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of delivering complex investment structures / vehicles, along with excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.

Product Delivery is a team of 50, specialising in the delivery of fund launches and product changes. Sitting within the Product team in M&G Asset Management, it works closely with the investment, distribution and operations teams and relies heavily on specific functions such as Legal, Tax and Compliance to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of Product projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects that deliver benefit to M&G plc. These will be wide-ranging in terms of subject / domain but will be product delivery projects rather than IT change projects;
  • Manage product development projects and fund launches from design through to launch;
  • Motivate a multi-disciplined team (and/or external) representatives to ensure the project delivers on time and within budget;
  • Ability to take a hands-on role within the project, working with fund managers and investment professionals;
  • Manage senior stakeholders; and
  • Build successful relationships with the project delivery partners, including external legal advice, fund administrator, trustee / custodian and auditor.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • A proven track record of successfully leading on, and delivering fund launches and product change;
  • Project management experience within investment management with an understanding of different approaches;
  • Experience in private assets e.g. Real Estate Debt, Private credit, Alternative Assets, Restructure, Leverage Loans and other esoteric instruments;
  • Delivery experience of complex, multi-layered investment structures / vehicles;
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal, with excellent active listening skills;
  • Strong influence and negotiating skills with an ability to manage a variety of stakeholders;
  • Willingness to work to tight deadlines, taking into account evolving business priorities;
  • The role encompasses Project Management capabilities with Product Management expertise to deliver the optimum product outcome.
  • Strong analytic and proven problem-solving skills with an ability to negotiate pragmatic solutions to meet conflicting business requirements;
  • Highly motivated, proactive and resilient; Ability to be flexible and to manage ambiguity during project delivery;
  • Must be a team player and able to work with and through others;
  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organisation, with strong relationship management skills; and
  • Good awareness of related regulations (e.g. UCITS, AIFMD, MiFID2 etc.).
