Training & Competence Consultant
You will report and assist the Training & Competence Manager in the strategic development of T&C schemes, and as part of the team plan and deliver AR Annual Assessments. Additionally, you will assist in overseeing how T&C is delivered within the Remote Advice & Pension Transfer Specialist teams. This requires an excellent understanding of regulatory sales processes, training and competence requirements for advisory businesses, and a working knowledge of the regulatory and policy requirements for advice businesses, in particular AR firms. You will prepare and deliver audit reports to senior management, and influence key stakeholders to take remedial actions to improve outcomes. You will additionally support the advice business as required with T&C specialist advice and guidance as required.
Key Responsibilities for this role:
- To support on the development of the Training and Competence (T&C) strategy/scheme, ensuring schemes are designed compliantly in line with policy, legislation and risk appetite. Lead, support and advise on T&C Standards
- To support on activities as defined in the T&C schemes, by providing expert guidance and advice, analysis of key indicators and reporting as required, ensuring training needs can be identified, highlighted and actioned appropriately by relevant management
- To support management on activities designed to deliver Competent Adviser Status of individuals required to undertake advice activities
- To deliver Annual Reviews in line with an audit programme that cover ARs. This is designed to audit adherence to processes (including T&C), competence of individuals within the T&C schemes, and compliance in line with regulatory and policy requirements
- To collaborate and support the wider Risk and Controls team as required on activities in line with the Risk and Control Framework. For example, undertaking audit activities to support incidents and investigations as required
- To collaborate and support relevant Wealth Advice Management in ensuring advice activities, T&C and regulatory standards are met and delivered by the AR and Hybrid teams
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Working knowledge of T&C regulation, T&C frameworks, tools and methodologies
- Working knowledge of FCA rules that directly or indirectly relate to training and competence activities for advice businesses, and ARs, and good outcomes for clients
- Expert knowledge of life, pension and investment products
- Expert knowledge of financial planning techniques, processes and methodologies
- Working knowledge of the advice market in UK financial services
- Experience of quality audit tools, methodologies and approaches
- Experience in negotiating and influencing
- Relevant professional qualification (CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or suitable alternative at level 4 or above
