Investment Analyst (12 month FTC / Secondment)
The Investment Analyst will join the Long-Term Investment Strategy (LTIS) team within M&G plc’s Life Investment Office (LIO), which manages over £150bn of funds across With-Profits, Annuity, and Unit-Linked portfolios. The LTIS team is responsible for strategic asset allocation, capital market assumptions, and investment modelling across multi-asset portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
Economic & Capital Market Views: Assist in developing long-term equilibrium economic assumptions and medium-term forecasts for asset class returns, volatilities, and correlations across geographies
Investment Modelling: Contribute to the enhancement of stochastic modelling capabilities used for portfolio construction and risk analysis
Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA): Support the framing of SAA and tactical asset allocation (TAA) limits for multi-asset funds, ensuring alignment with long-term views and regulatory requirements
Product Design: Collaborate on the design of new investment products using proprietary optimisation methodologies and market views
Control Environment: Take ownership of controls to improve customer outcomes and reduce operational risk across M&G
Key Skills & Experience
Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
Quantitative mindset with effective problem-solving abilities
Strong planning, organisational, and communication skills
Client-focused and delivery-oriented
Flexible, adaptable, and collaborative team player
Proven ability to build strong internal and external relationships
Academic background in a quantitative discipline
Professional qualifications such as CFA or Actuarial credentials (preferred)
Prior experience in asset management, consultancy, or insurance sectors
Desirable Attributes
Familiarity with multi-asset portfolio construction and optimisation
Experience with economic modelling and scenario analysis
Understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk management in investment contexts
