The Role: Regional Sales Director – South East of England

This role is an excellent opportunity to lead a talented, ambitious, and high performing region in a fast moving and forward-looking business with a clear strategy for future growth.

You will join a well-established team reporting to the Intermediated Sales Director and deliver sales revenue targets across the M&G propositions including PruFund. You will be responsible for all aspects of performance, development, quality and regulatory conduct of the Account Management team operating across a panel of financial adviser firms in the relevant region. The panels have a strong supporter base and good market share with potential for growth around the wider M&G proposition.

The overall package is strong with an competitive bonus and high earning potential if you and your region are performing successfully.

This role is an excellent opportunity for an established, successful leader with extensive knowledge of asset management or platform distribution in the South East of England or an already successful Account Manager or BDM looking to progress their skills and career in a field-based leadership role.

Key Responsibilities for this role:

  • Corporate – Acts in the best interests of the company, policyholders and shareholders to deliver the goals of the business.

  • Capable – An experienced, successful manager/leader in the UK life and pensions or asset management or platform industry who can coach Account Managers to stronger performance.

  • Compliant – Fully supports in word and action our compliant culture in Intermediated Distribution. Strong awareness of the regulators stance on leading issues and our risk appetites and controls.

  • Collaborative – Able to demonstrate a team based management approach within the distribution channel to maximise returns and opportunity. Can demonstrate a balanced and objective view of maximising business. Ability to help everyone to become the most effective they can be and deliver target and success for all account managers. To drive and maintain a positive culture.

  • Commercial - can drive out strong profits from the geography and deliver targets and revenue objectives. Can oversee regional structure including panel builds and Business Plans to allow opportunity to be developed and expanded upon based on skill set and experience.

  • Good understanding of how technology & A.I. can aid our sales process and market opportunities and embed the use of technology & A.I. in our future way of working.

  • Ability to coach and develop the teams on the value and application of our technology.

  • Show your team how to pull together by being a hands-on-leader and always be fair, open and honest.

  • Identify what needs to be done and choose the right people for the job.

  • Give each person in your team clear accountabilities and stretching work objectives.

  • Take an active lead in helping each person in your team perform to their best and understand how their work contributes to the achievement of business success.

  • Evaluate and monitor collective performance to ensure your team in delivering in support of the strategic priorities of the business.

  • Produce Business Plans and manage costs commercially.

  • Recognise successes around what is delivered and how people approach their work.

  • Maintain a consistent approach to managing performance across the business, by following the company processes.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across sales in M&G plc.

  • Take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G’s operational risk.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Good experience of relationship management and team management.

  • Experience in the Financial Advice sector, with an excellent understanding of the Adviser marketplace.

  • Experience of financial analysis and sales/revenue drivers.

  • Experience of regulated sales environments.

  • Expert level knowledge of industry best practice, good network/link with external bodies and individuals on the same field.

  • Detailed knowledge of Company products, systems and distribution.

  • Understanding of the Statements of Principle and Code of Practice.

  • Expert level knowledge of life and pensions products, markets and competitors.

  • Expert level knowledge of financial services regulatory and legislative frameworks.

  • Must live in the relevant region for the role with UK valid driving licence

Qualifications:

  • QCF Level 4 PFS/CII (Diploma or Chartered Financial Planner - preferred).
