This role leads the team responsible for NAV oversight and fund financial reporting oversight across M&G’s fund ranges. The team plays a key role in delivering a centralised fund accounting function, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of outputs from third party administrators (TPAs). The role provides technical and accounting expertise, supports regulatory and structural change, and strengthens governance across the fund lifecycle. The role holder builds strong partnerships with TPAs and internal stakeholders to uphold M&G’s risk and control framework for fund accounting, reporting, expense oversight and ongoing charges.
Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:
- Lead the oversight team with accountability for NAV oversight and fund financial reporting oversight.
- Maintain close collaboration and integration with offshore partners, including India based colleagues.
- Deliver BAU oversight across technical areas within financial reporting, fund accounting and NAV oversight.
- Act as SME for fund accounting oversight, including Fund, Financial Reporting and Costs & Charges.
- Oversee error and risk validation, analyse control failures, direct remediation activity and support Risk and Compliance investigations.
- Drive continuous improvement across processes, controls and oversight.
- Manage internal and external stakeholder queries.
- Build and maintain relationships with TPAs, auditors and key internal partners.
- Shape and maintain the control governance framework.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Educational Qualification
Skills:
- Strong technical expertise in fund accounting, NAV oversight, pricing, financial reporting, and costs & charges, with knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations across jurisdictions (UK, Ireland, Luxembourg).
- Deep understanding of fund structures and products (e.g., ICVCs, Unit Trusts, SICAV, FCP, RAIF, ELTIF, LTAFs) and experience across UCITS and money market funds.
- Strong risk, controls, and governance mindset, with the ability to assess complex issues, challenge constructively, and make clear, well-informed decisions.
- Proven ability to operate effectively within an oversight model, engaging auditors and internal stakeholders to review and challenge fund outputs.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues, identify root causes, and drive resolution.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to present complex topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work with autonomy, accountability, and sound judgement, contributing to team delivery and broader business outcomes.
- Focus on continuous improvement and strengthening control frameworks, with the ability to identify key risks and improvement opportunities.
Experience:
- 10-15 years of experience in financial services. Min 10 years of experience in Fund accounting oversight or fund financial reporting oversight with at least 8 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Educational Qualification:
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance. Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CA, MBA Finance) are a plus.
- Relevant IOC or Investment Management qualification / Certification would be desirable.
