Lead Java Developer - Vice President - IST (Institutional Securities Technology)

Profile Description

We’re seeking someone to join our team as Lead Java Developer for The Credit Valuation Adjustment (CVA) Technology team & is responsible for developing Risk Management systems for the global CVA Trading Desk, also benefiting the firm's Credit Risk, Market Risk, Valuation Risk and Corporate Treasury departments.

IST (Institutional Securities Technology)

Institutional Securities Technology (IST) develops and oversees the overall technology strategy and bespoke technology solutions to drive and enable the institutional businesses and enterprise-wide functions. IST’s ‘clients’ include Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Investment Banking, Research, Prime Brokerage and Global Capital Markets.

Fixed Income Division

In the Fixed Income division, we work in fast-paced and constantly changing global markets to assess and manage risk, trade securities, manage relationships with clients, and structure and execute innovative transactions.

Technical
Specialist

This is a Vice President position within our Technical Specialist function, which is responsible for providing extensive subject matter expertise and reinforcing the ability of business and technology audit teams to appropriately assess risk and determine and execute coverage.

What you’ll do in the role:

• We are looking for experienced candidates with 8-12 years of experience as hands on software developer to join our global team as a senior team member, providing performant solutions for our business clients.
• The ideal candidate will have outstanding core Java skills and JVM insight, experience in large scale real-time concurrent systems, a keen eye and interest towards performance and real time processing topics, deep knowledge of data structures and algorithms, as well as problem solving and good communication skills.
• The candidate will take part in various stages of the software development process with a particular focus on design, implementation, DevOps practices, improving scalability, performance, and efficiency of strategies.
• The core responsibility will be development of components and solutions within a complex, batch and interactive system developed by the team, using Java on Linux, Platform Symphony grid systems, DB2 and databases along with several in-house frameworks and technology build-ups, some of them developed and maintained by the team.

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Excellent Core Java skills with strong Object-Oriented design architecture experience.
• Experience in designing, implementing, and managing scalable data systems and services in Java.
• Experience with parallel/concurrent processing/multithreading, distributed, real time, grid compute.
• Experience with Spring, SOAP/RESTful, XML, JSON, ProtoBuf/Flat Buffers • Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Experience with Scala or any other functional programming.
• Prior experience with financial products.

At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
