Department Profile:

Compute and Storage Department is responsible for the architecture, engineering and delivery of products and services that comprise the Firm's of Public Cloud core compute infrastructure & on-premise hosting platforms. We're a diverse, talented, cross-discipline global team focused on aligning our solutions around the principles of Platform Engineering, DevOps, automation, and technical excellence.
The Platform Engineering & Cloud Foundation Lead is responsible for the team charged with designing and developing automation frameworks and capabilities for the Morgan Stanley Public Cloud, supporting both Azure, GCP and AWS. In this role, you will lead a team that builds tooling and automations that allow our development and business teams to leverage the public cloud in a fast, repeatable and secure manner. This is a senior role, in which the candidate will carry out multiple functions including that of local lead for the squads and key contributor to technical architecture. The ideal candidate is one with proven communication and teamwork skills to complement a strong technical foundation.

Skills Required:

- Hands-on Public Cloud engineering experience
- Experience leading cross-functional engineering/development teams.
- Experience working within a global organization.
- Experience managing global stakeholders input and driving product delivery aligned with customer expectations.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, etc.) & programming TF providers (Golang)
- Experience building RESTful interfaces (Python)
- Experience with Agile development methodology and CI/CD
- Proficiency in Linux and its eco system
- Experience with tools such as GIT, Jira and Bitbucket
- Strong communication skills
- Experience in Engineering & Automation of on-premise IaaS & Storage products
- Managing and oversight of regional teams and Stakeholders in the compute and storage space.

Skills Desired:

- Experience with Java
- Experience with Microservices architecture design patterns
- Experience in UI/UX
- Experience in Kubernetes
