In the Legal & Compliance division, we protect the Firm’s business by identifying risks and designing programs and policies that guide internal teams on ways to address or mitigate those outcomes.

The Bank Compliance Department is charged with oversight and coordination of the Compliance program for the U.S Banks (Morgan Stanley Bank, N.A. and Morgan Stanley Private Bank, National Association). The candidate will join the department as a member of the Consumer Lending Compliance Quality Assurance Team and will assist in the development, execution and maintenance of a Compliance Quality Assurance Plan for Morgan Stanley Private Bank, National Association lending products.

What you’ll do in the role:

  • Assisting with the on-going maintenance of the Compliance Quality Assurance Plan and Program;
  • Assisting in the on-going maintenance of the Compliance Quality Assurance review scenarios and test scripts for consumer lending related alphabet regulations (e.g. Regulations B, P, U, V, X, Z, FDPA, SAFE Act, Fair Housing Act, Military Lending Act, E-Sign Act, etc.);
  • Performing monthly Compliance QA reviews based on a pre-selected sample of loan files including both originated and non-originated loan files;
  • Assisting in the development and publication of monthly and quarterly reports reflecting the results and any trending analysis of the Compliance QA reviews;
  • Drafting compliance-related User Acceptance Test (UAT) Scripts for the residential mortgage loan origination system;
  • Assisting in the development of a Compliance QA plan and program for other Consumer Lending Products (i.e. Tailored Lending (TL), Line of Credit (LOC), Liquidity Access Line (LAL);
  • Assisting the Head of U.S. Bank Consumer Lending Compliance in project activities including document preparation based on compliance timing requirements, signature requirements, other federal and state-specific rules;
  • Assisting the Consumer Lending Compliance Quality Assurance Manager in providing guidance in the insertion of compliance rules in 1st line of defense training modules, job aids, procedures and loan origination system control request changes

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • 3-5 years of experience for Associate, 7-8+ years of overall experience for Director including experience in managing teams
  • Experience in interpreting laws or regulations
  • Prior experience with lending origination compliance quality control requirements
  • Solid track record working in a professional environment
  • Knowledge of consumer lending products (i.e residential mortgage, Liquidity Access Line, Tailored Lending, Line of Credit from an origination perspective)
  • Knowledge of consumer protection alphabet regulatory requirements (e.g. Regs B, C, P, U, V, X, Z, Flood Disaster Protection, SCRA, Fair Housing, and SAFE, etc)
  • Should exhibit comfort working with technology and the ability to learn and display proficiency on Firm’s systems and programs

Coverage

Monday to Friday from 11:30 AM IST to 8:30 PM IST. Coverage is dependent on business needs so flexibility on required finish time or full day’s coverage may be required during some Indian holidays.
