We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Vice President in IM Operations to be responsible for managing Performance and Analytics Operations within Middle Office Operations team. This function will span across all Business lines and asset classes, that are currently managed by MSIM for their Mutual Funds and Institutional Clients. The role will be responsible for accurate, timely and complete calculation of performance and analytics for our portfolios, including benchmark returns.

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is a Team Manager position at Vice President level within the Product Support & Services, which is responsible for providing transaction support and managing post execution processes.

What you’ll do in the role:

· Develop staff, lead projects and control deployment of resources, owning management tools/methods such as work queues, checklists, depth charts and calendars

· Set direction and expectations for your team(s), defining training plans and transfer of expert knowledge to contribute to team output and development

· Contribute to business plan for area, establish risk/contingency plans, raise and address issues with urgency when required

· Build and manage relationships with business unit partners, other Morgan Stanley infrastructure departments, and external contact points in Client or Market organizations

· Ensure that the Performance team meets all internal and external deliverables against the established Service Level Agreement.

· Be responsible for the strategies, priorities, and initiatives to drive worldclass capabilities and continuous process improvements.

· Be part of a global team responsible for middle-office performance and analytical functions including but not limited to reporting, composite maintenance and client take-on/termination tasks

· Partner with MSIM Middle Office teams and business partners to understand products and strategies and to position the team to advise on performance measurement calculations and interpretations

· Working very closely with the Global Fund Administration teams in managing and meeting requirements for regulatory and Board reporting. The position works alongside the Analytics, Composites and risk teams to ensure data accuracy and coordinated delivery of service.

What you’ll bring to the role:

· Strong relationship building skills serving as a role model for client service

· Ability to think commercially, understand the impact of initiatives, risks on the operational budget

· Experience in managing teams, enhancing control, continuous improvement and reducing operational risk

· Culture carrier and role model, representing and leading the Firm's core values to influence and motivate those around you

· Asset management performance calculation and reporting experience, including knowledge of alternative return calculations and GIPS standards.

· Automation with low code tooling, AI savvy, and experience with leading teams through process improvements and transformation

· Experience in investment management operations is highly preferred. Deep understanding of investment products (equities, fixed income, derivatives, alternatives) and their valuation as part of the overall portfolio.

· Ability to operate independently at a senior level and navigate the organization to foster collaboration in a results-oriented manner.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $173,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
