The Leveraged Finance (‘Lev Fin’) group sits within GCM and focuses on providing comprehensive and innovative financing advice to financial sponsors and non-investment grade corporate issuers across industries. This includes advising clients on optimal capital structure, underwriting financing packages, negotiating terms and documentation, advising on execution considerations and distribution to the institutional syndicated market or private capital markets. Lev Fin offers a mix of products (HY bonds, leveraged loans, private credit) which help our clients facilitate LBO (‘Leveraged Buyout’) and M&A transactions, repurchase shares, refinance existing debt as well as provide them with working capital and liquidity. The Lev Fin group is made up of syndicate, industry coverage, private credit advisory and asset based lending. In addition to interacting with corporate and sponsor clients and investment banking, Lev Fin works closely with sales and trading and high yield and leveraged loan investors.

Our New York office is looking for an Analyst to join the Leveraged Finance Capital Markets team.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Assisting with underwriting, marketing, and execution of transactions

- Preparation of marketing pitches, review and formulation of financial analysis, client presentations, and deal underwriting memos

- Assist colleagues in all aspects of deal execution processes for leveraged loan, high yield bond and private credit transactions including investor outreach, roadshow scheduling, investor feedback tracking, data room maintenance, and primary deal allocations

Qualifications:

- 1-3 years of Leveraged Finance or Investment Banking experience

- Extraordinarily high level of motivation, attention to detail, strong work ethic, and decision-making abilities

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a positive attitude

- Strong interest in and understanding of Capital Markets and Investment Banking

- Analytical, quantitative, adaptive, hungry, a self-starter, a leader, a team player, a multitasker, and a results-oriented individual

- High proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint

- Commercial instinct and ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines

- Interest in developing a career in Global Capital Markets

- Bachelor’s degree is required; MBA, CA, and/or CFA designation is an asset

- Series licensing or must obtain upon joining (SIE, S79, S7, S63)

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $125,000 per year for Analyst, at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
