Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology is the global technology department responsible for the design, development, delivery and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) business. The department is comprised of 10 organizations: Sales, Banking & Corporate-Client Technology, Investment Products & Markets Technology, Client Reporting, Core Processing, Private and International Wealth Management Technology, Technology Integration Office, Enterprise Infrastructure & Production Management, Capital Markets Application & Data Services, Deployment Planning & Release Management, and the Chief Operating Office.

Department Profile
Wealth Managements Core Platform Services group provides horizontal services to all Wealth management Development Teams. Our mission is to provide stable and scalable infrastructure and technology solutions for entire Wealth Management. We serve as a centralized interface through which Wealth Management teams can obtain infrastructure solutions and project support by working closely with application owners throughout the SDLC process to ensure that established products/services are leveraged, and new requirements are fulfilled.

Position Description
This position is for a QA Automation Engineer with Automation experience for Morgan Stanley Wealth Management- Solution Development team at Morgan Stanley's Bangalore.

The Solution Development team is part of the Wealth Management Organization at Morgan Stanley. Under Solution Development is WMQA, a testing group for Desktop Testing Services program (DTS) program provides innovative testing solutions and services for desktop software, tools and utilities installed over various platforms, hardware, and networks to ensure stable and reliable desktop and infrastructure environment for Wealth Management users.

We are looking for colleagues with strong sense of ownership and ability to drive solutions. The role is primarily responsible design & develop testing approach & strategy and execute critical programs, leverage or develop varied tools & automation frameworks, develop testing solutions, for the entire Wealth Management.

This program works on various projects from building innovative cutting edge web portals to cater to internal stakeholders for the Lab work to building/enhancing common testing and automation frameworks - for desktops, virtual machines, laptops, Chromebook, tablets, Mac across different networks - scope of which includes but is not limited to Operating System upgrades, Infrastructure upgrades, 3rd Party Software patches, Morgan Stanley apps, Desktop software and utilities, GPO and appsense changes etc.

As an Automation Developer working in DTS program, you'll have a chance to help in designing & developing innovative testing solutions such as testing tools and utilities (both desktop and web based), designing strategy for hardware and software certifications, influencing entire WSS workflows and processes, designing and developing automation frameworks, and providing advocacy etc. You will also work closely with Enterprise Technology and Services stakeholders to enable adoption of best practices and strategies through Shift Left and Advocacy approaches.

What You will do in this role:

  • As a technical test Lead, works with the team members in solving complex problems and challenges
  • Collaborate and Lead team members in cross-vendor cross-location teams to solve complex problems and challenges
  • Review requirement specifications, identify gaps, and determine implications.
  • Create or expand automation test frameworks and scripts for Operating Systems and desktop applications.
  • Develop efficient tools and processes to improve software engineering productivity including CI/CD optimizations.
  • Perform hands-on testing over software and hardware.
  • Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications.
  • Troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining, and improving existing applications and code.
  • Integrate software components and third-party tools and utilities.
  • Design and develop innovative testing tools and utilities.
  • Conduct R&D on new tools/technologies, assessment on their fitment and provide recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-divisional stakeholders and provide quality deliverables.
  • Work with stakeholders to finalize designs, algorithms, and workflows.
  • Create technical documentation for reference and reporting.
  • Improvise testing and test automation processes and help define best practices while providing reusable and scalable ideas or solutions.
  • Perform periodic review of artifacts - reports, docs, scenarios, automation scripts.
  • Work closely and communicate progress to the leadership on a regular basis.
  • Gain and share insights about Quality related issues and be the Squad Champion for all efforts and best practices in a continuously evolving environment.


What You will bring to the role:

  • 2+ years of experience on Desktop Automation tools like LeanFT, AutoIT, PowerAutomate etc.
  • 2+ years of experience in scripting such as Batch/Bash, Shell, WMI scripting etc.
  • Knowledge on test automation framework development - BDD, Data Driven and Keyword Driven framework etc.
  • 3+ years of experience on coding languages such as Python, PowerShell etc.
  • 3+ years of experience in hardware and software upgrades, operating system upgrades (Windows, Chrome, Mac etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience on various deployment and packaging techniques
  • Hands-on experience in CI/CD using TeamCity, GIT, Jenkins, JIRA Xray
  • Knowledge on relational and No-SQL databases
  • Understanding on Web based automation tools like Selenium webdriver, Cucumber, Cypress, TestNG etc.
  • Good to have experience in Mobile testing tools like Perfecto, SeeTest etc.
  • Experience of working in highly fast paced Agile based scrum teams and solving complex problems.
  • Experience of working in teams spread across geographies and closely tracking deliverables.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Excellent management, communication (written and oral), presentation and interpersonal skills

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 to $165,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
