Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC seeks a Vice President, Banking in New York, NY
Conduct fundamental credit analysis and advise high yield and investment grade clients on the ratings impact of their various capital raising and strategic financing decisions. Work with internal teams to develop optimal financing structure and capital market solutions. Engage and manage the process with rating agencies on a live financing transaction on behalf of clients. Advise clients on strategies to minimize ratings impact and manage their relationship with rating agencies. Advise internal teams including banking and capital markets group on rating methodologies and ratings treatment of various debt instruments. Provide monthly and quarterly updates to internal team on rating agencies and their outlook.
Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $275,000 and $275,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field of study and seven (7) years of experience in the position offered or seven (7) years as an Vice President, Credit Analyst, Research Analyst, Associate, or a closely related occupation. Requires seven (7) years of experience with: working at a Rating Agency to conduct credit analysis and methodologies, and working on rating assignments for high yield and investment grade companies; accounting, financial statements, and cash flow analysis; interpreting corporate filings and projections of financial statements; financial models including loss given default model, recovery analysis, and speculative grade liquidity analysis; analyzing and interpreting financing structures involving different forms of debt instruments including hybrid instruments, preferred capital, convertible notes, and tangible equity; reading and interpreting debt documentation, credit agreements, and covenants; analyzing corporate finance structures including spin offs, reverse morris trust, mergers and acquisitions, and leveraged buyout practices; researching sector outlooks or speculative grade companies’ outlook; engaging with C-suite executives, treasury, and different levels of the organization.
