Morgan Stanley Services Group Inc. seeks an Associate, Software Engineer in Alpharetta, Georgia
Translate business needs into data models that support strategic solutions. Collaborate with the Application Development team to implement data strategies, building data flows, and develop conceptual data models. Optimize and update logical and physical data models to support new and existing projects. Develop best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models. Reverse engineer physical data models from disparate databases and SQL scripts. Evaluate data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies. Review modifications to existing software to improve efficiency and performance. Examine new application designs and recommend corrections if required. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $136,000 and $136,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a Project Manager, Project Associate, Programmer Analyst or a related role. Requires five (5) years of experience with: Data modeling, data design and relational database, including SQL Server/Sybase, and Oracle; T-SQL; PL/SQL; Unix; Linux; modeling tools including Metacenter and MDX; designing enterprise data models for wealth management industry; and performance tuning and query optimization. Requires three (3) years of experience with: Perl; Shell scripting; Postman; and Control-M. Requires one (1) year: financial markets, lending based products and wealth management; SAP Hana Studio; SAP HANA XSA; and Bitbucket.
