We're seeking someone to join our EDC (Enterprise Data Center) Team as a Data Center IT Asset + Event Manager.
In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is an Infrastructure Production Management & Reliability Engineering II position at Associate level, which is part of the job family responsible for maintaining the stability and reliability of the organization's infrastructure systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability to support business operations.

What you'll do in the role:
This role will be focused on reducing IT and operational risk to the Firm during the final stages of the IT Asset Lifecycle: IT Asset Decommissioning and Disposal. As a supervisor, the candidate will ensure all personnel reporting to them conduct themselves in a safe and professional manner, follow all safety guidelines and firm security policies and will set a personal example of these qualities at all times.
The role will also be focused on fastidiously tracking asset decommissioning and disposal operations activity and documenting incident (loss) investigations. Records, including manifests, approval forms, invoices, certificates of destruction (CoDs), and images must be meticulously organized in accordance with all firm electronic communication standards. As such, the candidate will interface with and build professional relationships with EDC Operations staff, third-party disposal vendor staff, and EDC risk management staff to facilitate smooth business-as-usual operations, incident remediation and risk management as needed, and regulatory projects upon request.
Event Manager duties are as follows:
- Serve as main subject matter expert for the data centers he/she is responsible for. Expertise must be maintained in the following areas:
- Enterprise Data Center process documents and procedure documents
- Firm Electronic Communication standards and policies
- Firm security standards and policies
- Physical inventory spaces within the data centers he/she is responsible for
- Service Level agreements with local data center service vendors (e.g. Hines, Quick).
- Use of proprietary data input and reporting tools
- Train Asset Control Technicians on use of tools and data center procedures.
- Manage and ensure data input quality is accurate and timely.
- Travel to local unmanned sites and conduct shipping/secure shipping of assets to manned data centers for processing.
- Ensure staff demonstrate full adherence to firm safety, security, communication, and data center policies at all times.
- Fill in for Asset Control Technicians during times of absence when necessary.
Asset Processing and Control duties are as follows:
- Properly receive, breakdown and inventory system logging of decommissioned data center assets whose next state of disposition is disposal or reuse
- Validate upstream records meet decommission scope and technology goods receiving requirements
- Ensure persistent storage components are timely separated from parent device, scanned and logged into the appropriate inventory system
- Adhere to asset inventory and receiving standards and procedures
- Validate goods slated for disposal received via the Logistics process (ingested non-DC goods)
- Manage proper turnover of processed assets to secure storage entity
- Coordinate with relevant teams to identify and improve document asset management control risks e.g. physical security systems, secure storage access, CCTV coverage, record keeping, etc.
Team Management Responsibilities are as follows:
- Excellent teamwork skills, capable of working effectively across a variety of IT and Business groups, across regions, roles and able to interact effectively with all management levels
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Ability to identify appropriate stakeholders within and beyond immediate team and work to build and maintain tight network/relationships with them
- Strong communication skills essential – both written and verbal
- Experience in developing executive level presentation materials
- Self-starter able to identify where focus is needed and bring clarity to requirements
- Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
What you'll bring to the role:
- Ability to engage with the broader team, communicate goals, tasks and deliverables in 1-1 and team meetings.
- Professional-level Japanese necessary.
- Good English skills necessary.
- Minimum Associates Degree
- Must have at least one year of experience working in a data center environment
- PMP or other project management certification a plus but not required
