About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Developer to join the Prime Brokerage Technology team in Hong Kong as a senior individual contributor. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on technical ownership, solution design, delivery execution, and close partnership with business and technology stakeholders. The ideal candidate has strong Java/Spring engineering experience, financial services domain exposure, and practical experience using AI-assisted development tools and spec-driven development practices to improve developer productivity and delivery quality.

Prime Brokerage provides services to hedge funds, institutional investors, and other sophisticated clients, including custody, securities lending, financing, reporting, and risk management solutions. About the Team
The Prime Brokerage Technology team is a global Agile organization building platforms for the Prime Brokerage franchise. The Hong Kong team works closely with regional stakeholders and global technology teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions for the Asia business.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications supporting Prime Brokerage business functions.
Own technical deliverables end to end, including solution design, implementation, code quality, and production readiness.
Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and global technology teams to deliver practical technology solutions.
Apply AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, along with spec-driven development practices, to improve productivity and delivery quality.
Build scalable applications using Java, Spring, databases, messaging, and javascript technologies.
Contribute to technical design, architecture discussions, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
Required Skills and Experience
8+ years of professional software development experience, including mandatory experience in a financial services organization.
Mandatory experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms, combined with spec-driven development practices to boost developer productivity.
Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring-based application development.
Solid understanding of software design principles, object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL; NoSQL exposure is plus
Good understanding of SDLC practices, including testing, code quality, release management, and production support.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex systems and navigate large codebases.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with global teams and senior stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
Experience working with Prime Brokerage or Securities Lending businesses is a strong plus.
Exposure to messaging or streaming platforms such as MQ or Kafka.
Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React.
Experience with Behavior-Driven Development and automated testing
