FRM MSIM Risk Manager

We are seeking an FRM MSIM Risk Manager As a member of our risk management department, you will gain insights into global capital management for regulatory and business purposes.
This role will reside within FRM's Investment Management Risk Department, a second line of defence team providing governance and oversight of risks arising from the Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) Division. The successful candidate will be based in Budapest and will provide independent liquidity and equity risk coverage across MSIM's Public Funds (UCITS / 40 Act), ETFs, SMAs, Money Market Funds. The role has a functional reporting line into the Vice President located in the New York IM Risk team, with a local reporting line into the Budapest team lead

What you'll do in the role:
- Assess and monitor liquidity and equity risks across MSIM's Public Funds, ETFs, SMAs and Money Market Funds, with focus on issuer, sector, country and factor concentrations
- Participate in active dialogue with the Investment Management business units, portfolio managers, risk management colleagues and other groups regarding business strategies, risk representation, and risk threshold compliance
- Run and interpret stress tests across equity portfolios and fund liquidity (Firm Macro Scenarios, 2a-7, EU MMFR, waterfall and pro-rata liquidation), identifying potential shortfalls and mitigants.
- Support the build-out, calibration and ongoing monitoring of risk threshold frameworks across equity (active risk, concentration, performance) and liquidity metrics
- Help prepare briefings to senior management and contribute to the IM Risk Committee, EMEA Risk Subcommittee and Liquidity Risk Subcommittee.
- Execute projects to improve risk representation, including data sourcing, automation of EUC reports, and adoption of AI tooling
- Create high quality reports for Boards, Regulators and internal use on a regular basis
- Contribute to the risk sections of the UK FCA's ICARA and MSIM FMIL ICAAP documents
What you'll bring to the role:
- Excellent academic background, preferably in business, finance, economics or a quantitative discipline.
- Some understanding of equity markets, fund structures, liquidity risk and investment management products.
- Quantitatively oriented with strong intuition and ability to make judgments.
- Ability to synthesize complex data sets and conceptualize appropriate solutions.
- Proactive, able to work both independently and as part of a geographically distributed team.
- Excellent written, graphical and verbal communication skills
Nice to have:
- Experience in the financial services industry (particularly investment risk, liquidity risk or portfolio management)
- FRM, CFA or progress towards them are a plus
