2027 Investment Banking Summer Associate Program (Tokyo)

In the Investment Banking division, we offer Global expertise in market analysis and in advisory and capital-raising services for corporations, institutions, and governments.Morgan Stanley is a worldwide leader in Investment Banking. Internship Programs

Our Summer Associates have the opportunity to be involved in an immersive orientation program and learn about our culture as well as the benefits and responsibilities of being a member of the Firm. You will participate in an intensive division-specific training program focused on developing a strong foundation in the basic skills of financial analysis, accounting and valuation, and work on a wide range of transactions.

In addition, Summer Associates have many opportunities to exchange ideas and network with peers, mentors and senior managers through team-building sessions and benefit from working alongside experienced professionals on meaningful projects during their internship. Our internship programs are designed to provide a realistic view of Investment Banking by having the interns assume the functions of Full-Time Associates.

Role and Responsibilities

The role of Summer Associates may include:

  • Analyzing detailed company, industry, and financial information
  • Preparing financial analyses and exhibits, including comparable company, precedent transaction and performance benchmarking materials
  • Building financial models to evaluate valuation and transaction outcomes
  • Assisting in the preparation of marketing materials, including pitch books, information memoranda, and management presentations
  • Supporting the execution of M&A, equity, and debt transactions

Qualifications and Skills

  • You are pursuing an MBA with a graduation date between October 2027 and July 2028.
  • Must be graduating from an MBA at a University/Institution outside of Japan.
  • Business level proficiency in English and Japanese.

Internship Period

Summer Associate Program: 10 weeks between June and August 2027
