In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is Full-Stack Developer role at Vice President level, which is part of the job family responsible for developing software tools, automation platforms, APIs, and supporting solutions that help service and infrastructure teams improve reliability and manage complex production processes at scale. This role is well suited to an engineer who can combine strong software development skills with an understanding of infrastructure operations, service delivery, and the practical challenges faced by technical support teams.
Since 1935, Morgan Stanley is known as a global leader in financial services, always evolving and innovating to better serve our clients and our communities in more than 40 countries around the world.
What you'll do in the role:
Design and deliver backend services, APIs, automation workflows, and front-end capabilities that enable infrastructure and service teams to manage operational processes more effectively.
Develop services using C#.NET and Python FastAPI, with a focus on clear service boundaries, reusable components, observability, and long-term maintainability.
Develop API gateway logic, authentication flows, routing patterns, and integration approaches using technologies such as Ocelot, YARP, and Apigee.
Develop Angular-based user interfaces that present complex infrastructure and support workflows in a clear, controlled, and usable manner for technical teams.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, containerization, deployment practices, and release processes that support reliable delivery in an enterprise environment.
Collaborate with infrastructure, production management, and service teams to understand operational requirements and convert them into scalable, maintainable software solutions.
Use secure integration patterns for authentication, authorization, data access, and service-to-service communication.
Evaluate opportunities to apply AI-assisted capabilities where they can responsibly improve triage, workflow guidance, knowledge discovery, or support effectiveness.
What you'll bring to the role:
The role operates within a modern enterprise engineering environment that includes C#.NET, Python FastAPI, Angular, Angular Material, TailwindCSS, DaisyUI, Ocelot, YARP, Apigee, OIDC-based authentication, MS SQL, MongoDB, Jenkins, Docker, PowerShell, and Python scripting. While prior experience with every technology in the stack is not required, candidates should demonstrate strong engineering fundamentals, sound judgment, and the ability to learn and apply appropriate tools to business and operational problems.
Experience building software that supports infrastructure, IT operations, production management, automation, internal platforms, or other service-oriented technical environments.
A strong full stack development background, including backend services, APIs, front-end development, databases, automated testing, and secure integration patterns.
Experience working with technical stakeholders, including infrastructure engineers, support teams, production manager and platform owners, with the judgment to balance delivery speed, simplicity, resilience, and enterprise standards.
Ability to articulate engineering decisions, including service design, authentication approaches, performance considerations, failure handling, operational support, and maintainability.
Practical understanding of CI/CD, containerization, agile delivery, SDLC practices, design patterns, database design, and message-based or event-driven integration patterns such as Kafka Candidate Discussion Focus
Ability to explain technical concepts in practical terms, connect software design to operational impact, and demonstrate an informed understanding of infrastructure and service team workflows.
Commitment to writing code that is readable, maintainable, secure, and designed to accommodate future change.
Ownership of outcomes, including a willingness to understand production realities, operational constraints, user behaviour, and support requirements.
Interest in automation and emerging technologies, particularly where they can improve support workflows and decision-making responsibly.
Awareness of performance considerations, including the ability to design efficient logic and apply asynchronous, parallel, or multithreaded patterns where appropriate.
