Morgan Stanley Private Equity Solutions (the Team), an investment team within MSIM, seeks to deliver innovative private markets solutions to a global client base across a variety of asset classes within private equity and related strategies. The Team is comprised of over 50 investment professionals based in suburban Philadelphia, New York, London, and Hong Kong and manages a global program across primary fund investing and direct investing in asset classes from venture capital to leveraged buyouts and special situations.

Since 2014, the Team has developed a strong footprint in impact investing by deploying over $1 billion in social and environmental impact strategies, with a particular focus on climate impact investments ranging from cleantech to sustainable agriculture. In 2024 the Team launched the 1GT Fund to invest in growth stage decarbonization companies across power, mobility, sustainable food & agriculture, and circular economy sectors in Europe and North America.

Placement and duration

The Off-Cycle Internship is an opportunity to experience the culture and atmosphere in the Investment Management Division by taking on some of the responsibilities and functions of a Full-time Analyst for a short period.

The internship will commence in January 2027 and typically lasts twelve months. This internship will offer you an exciting and dynamic work environment where you get to work alongside our diverse group of experienced professionals. The work that you do will be interesting and varied.

Roles and Responsibilities

Investor relations / client services

• Support client engagement activities by servicing existing investors and supporting capital raising activities across various private equity investment strategies, with a focus on the Team’s impact investment strategies
• Contribute to managing existing client relationships and help coordinate client deliverables and review meetings
• Support the production of thoughtful and timely market outlook, portfolio activity, and thematic investment content for existing and prospective clients
• Liaise with other teams within MSIM, including Legal, Compliance, Risk, Sales, and Marketing, to ensure successful coordination and servicing of client accounts, particularly as it relates to investor materials
• Work alongside impact specialists to calculate and communicate the positive social and environmental impact delivered by the Team’s investments
• Work with ESG specialists and assist with reporting and compliance with key regulations such as SFDR, TCFD, and EU Taxonomy

Investment

• Perform analysis as part of monitoring existing portfolio investments to support members of the team acting as board members for investees
• Conduct fundamental research on a wide range of industries, companies, climate impact solutions, and macroeconomic trends

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements:

• You are recently graduated or able to take the time off to commit to a full-time internship role for 12 months if you are currently in study
• You have a high level of intellectual curiosity and an interest in developing your knowledge of private equity investing, impact investing, and financial concepts
• You are able to analyze and interpret both quantitative and qualitative information quickly and accurately
• You have the ability to manage and execute simultaneous projects and tasks with challenging deadlines while maintaining a high degree of quality and accuracy
• You thrive in a team-based environment with multiple stakeholders. You are self-aware and open to feedback
• You are committed to excellence in your work and maintain high professional and ethical standards
• You have a high level of fluency in English; fluency in other European languages is considered a plus
• You have strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
