The Onboarding Team is responsible for managing the implementation of new products, institutional client mandates, portfolio management or deal teams, and strategic offerings. The Specialty Finance Onboarding Lead will primarily support a deal team investing in private loans, whole loans, and other specialty finance investments. The focus is on the overall support model—managing end-to-end fund launches and deal support, liaising across internal teams (legal, finance, operations, technology, portfolio management), and coordinating all setups required to close deals and implement funds. The Onboarding team identifies the requirements for the launches, designs solutions and coordinates across multiple departments to ensure that all project tasks are identified and completed in a timely manner to support successful implementation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with internal teams to identify onboarding requirements (Product Management, Marketing, Portfolio Management, Client Services, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Technology)

  • Lead the implementation for specialty finance products, including private loans, whole loans, and related fund launches across internal teams and all external service providers

  • Participate in the review of complex fund structures to ensure the optimal support model is designed

  • Analyze the support model and manage the setups required for new types of deals

  • Develop and manage project plans, including establishing key milestones, identifying tasks and owners and documenting the areas of focus, risks, and appropriate timelines while ensuring successful execution and delivery

  • Create and maintain project documentation, workflow templates, and operating models to standardize onboarding processes and support scalability for new offerings, leveraging existing systems and capabilities across the Firm

  • Prepare management reports, track progress, and deliver presentations to senior management and key stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the onboarding lifecycle.

  • Ensure accounts are opened in a timely manner, both internally and externally with service providers

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (finance or accounting preferred) or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years in financial services operations, with direct exposure to specialty finance, private loans, or private credit; hands-on experience managing fund/deal implementations strongly preferred.

  • Strong project management, analytical, organizational skills, and is adept at creating and maintaining project plans, documentation, and workflows.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project); experience with Visio, Miro, and Monday.com is a plus.

  • Effective communicator, team player, and self-starter

  • Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and comfortable driving change and process improvements.
