Sr. Consultant – Data Management
Location: Bangalore | Experience: 8–12 years
As a member of the GFA Data Management team, this role will be responsible to strengthen data governance, enhance data quality, convert data challenges into opportunities and help build scalable, data driven solutions. The successful candidate will have to work with operations, technology and enterprise data teams to ensure data quality, regulatory compliance and actionable insights for strategic decision making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement data governance frameworks, policies, and standards for GFA teams.
- Establish data quality management, including profiling, data remediation, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement to improve the quality of data in source systems.
- Oversee metadata management, data lineage, and master data management (MDM) initiatives and ensure compliance with Enterprise Data Governance teams.
- Analyse operations processes and issues to identify areas to improve data quality, reduce risk and improve efficiency.
- Elicit, outline and develop business requirements for projects and technical changes coordinating with business and technology teams.
- Provide analysis and takes ownership throughout the lifecycle of the project from scoping, high level business requirements, detailed business requirements and implementation as required.
- Translate business problems into data driven insights and solutions, products.
- Work with large, complex datasets to develop dashboards, reports, and analytics for senior stakeholders.
- Work with cross-functional teams to design and implement data management solutions that meet business needs, collaborate with engineering teams on data pipelines.
- Build strong working relationships with operations and technology teams.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: 8 - 12 years in data governance, management, and analytics (preferably in financial services); strong understanding of financial data domains.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with data governance tool such as Collibra, Analytics/BI tools (SQL,Power BI, Alteryx) , data modeling and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) would be preferred.
- Soft Skills: Good consulting mindset, analytical thinking, stakeholder management, and communication skills; ability to influence across functions.
- Certifications in CDMP, DAMA-DMBOK, Data Analytics would be preferred.
Eligibility for Internal Partner
- 3 years as a Team Leader to move as a Section Manager currently at an Officer level.
- 24 months as a consultant to move as a Senior Consultant. Movement within Senior Consultant and Section Manager is applicable if they have prior 36 months of people management experience.
