Role / Department

The Senior Consultant role operates within a dedicated Dealing Team in the Transfer Agency Department. The role is recognised as a senior technical and operational authority, acting as a subject matter expert (SME) and key inter‑team and inter‑departmental collaborator.

Reporting to a Dealing Manager, the Senior Consultant provides leadership without formal line‑manager accountability, representing the needs of the team, the client, and the wider business. The role has significant responsibility for oversight, control, risk management, and delivery assurance, and plays a critical role in supporting both business‑as‑usual operations and change initiatives.

The Transfer Agency Department provides fund administration services to multiple Fund Management companies, delivering the full range of shareholder servicing functions including Dealing, Registration, Finance, and the Investor Services Centre.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Act as a recognised subject matter expert for Transfer Agency Dealing processes and platforms.

  • Coordinate system and process testing, procedural updates, and training delivery for impacted teams.

  • Provide expert support to teams to resolve complex issues and ensure stability.

  • Maintain oversight of operational controls, ensuring procedures remain current, effective, and compliant with regulatory and internal policy requirements.

  • Lead control reviews and support the implementation of enhanced controls where required.

  • Ensure keystroke and operational procedures are accurate, approved, and consistently applied.

  • Act as an escalation point for high‑risk or complex issues requiring senior technical judgment.

  • Provide day‑to‑day oversight of processing quality and timeliness across Transfer Agency Dealing locations.

  • Monitor dashboards, deliverables, and reporting outputs to ensure commitments are met within agreed timeframes.

  • Support KPI delivery and loss minimisation through proactive oversight and issue resolution.

  • Prepare and review management information, including monthly widgets and dealing statistics, for senior stakeholders.

  • Participate in weekly oversight calls with offshore and back‑office locations, ensuring challenges are documented, tracked, and resolved.

  • Represent the Dealing function in operational, inter‑departmental, and client‑facing forums.

  • Liaise with clients on service delivery matters and Service Level Agreements, escalating risks or issues where appropriate.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to support effective end‑to‑end service delivery.

  • Provide functional leadership and coaching to team members, supporting skill development and operational excellence.

  • Support the Manager in setting team objectives and embedding a strong performance culture.

  • Promote open communication, knowledge sharing, and active cross‑training within the team.

  • Participate in recruitment activities and support structured, well‑documented onboarding for new team members.

  • Ensure mandatory training requirements are completed within required timelines.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Significant Transfer Agency or Fund Administration experience, with strong technical knowledge of Dealing operations.

  • Proven ability to act as a senior subject matter expert, providing authoritative guidance and appropriately escalating or influencing decisions across teams and stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and operational risk management.

  • Experience supporting or leading teams in a senior, non‑managerial capacity.

  • Client‑facing experience with the ability to represent the function professionally and credibly.

  • Strong planning, organisational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment with a flexible approach to work.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
