Overview of the Role:

The Collective Investment Trust (“CIT”) Product Management Team is seeking an individual to support product management and administration activities for a collective and common fund complex with more than 150 funds and $500 billion in assets under management.

The CIT Product Management team is responsible for the management and oversight of Northern Trust Investments, Inc.’s internally managed collective and common funds. In performing its responsibilities, the team works with asset class product managers, investment strategists, relationship management teams, portfolio managers, operations, legal, risk, and compliance. The team also works with its affiliated custodian/administrator and with external advisors and agents.

CIT Product Specialist Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating fund launches and closures
  • Reviewing and completing documentation related to account openings, fund registrations, and taxes in foreign markets
  • Collaborating with internal teams including relationship management, portfolio management, custody, fund administration, operations, legal, risk, and compliance teams
  • Engaging internal and/or external resources to ensure fund compliance with market or tax requirements
  • Leading or attending meetings with fund service providers
  • Understanding the roles and responsibilities of the upstream and the downstream processes/partner areas
  • Partnering with technology and operational support teams for product, business, and/or system enhancements
  • Preparing periodic updates and metrics to management and NTI (Northern Trust Investments) Board
  • Supporting ad hoc CIT and global product management team initiatives

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or other relevant area
  • 10 – 15+ years of experience in fund administration, fund accounting, custody and/or product management supporting daily-valued pooled funds
  • Experience with bank-sponsored common and collective funds preferred
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teams to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication skills
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Familiarity with custody/fund accounting reports and financial statements
  • Ability to multi-task and handle completion of competing priorities
  • Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficiency

Salary Range:

$95,600 - 162,400 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
