Role/Department: Interior Construction–Team Leader/Corporate Real Estate
Interior Construction–Team Leader is an established people leader with a track record of coaching talent, managing performance, administration and aligning team outcomes to strategic priorities. Responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects from inception through completion. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality , workplace standards, change management approach while effectively managing stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Project Planning & Execution
• Develop comprehensive project plans and supporting presentations, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource requirements
• Oversee all phases of construction projects from design through closeout
• Ensure alignment with business objectives and operational requirements
• Lead coordination with APM Team , Shared Services and other relevant WPS functions
Budget & Cost Management
• Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls
• Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures where appropriate
• Review and approve contracts, invoices, and change orders
• Recommend , cost and evaluate pipeline projects for capital plan cycles.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
• Serve as a primary point of contact and / or escalation for internal stakeholders for both moves ands and changes as well as builds executed independently and by the team
• Manage external consultants, contractors, and vendors
• Facilitate regular governance meetings, ongoing reporting and provide status updates to leadership
Schedule & Risk Management
• Strive to accelerate processes. Define project deadlines for APM team and track alignment to target.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and track progress against milestones
• Identify risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies
• Address issues and escalate as needed to maintain project momentum
Procurement & Contracting
• Manage bidding processes, vendor selection, and contract negotiations
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and contractual obligations
Skills/Qualifications:
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Real Estate, or related field
• 5–10+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects
• Experience with corporate office, workplace, or large-scale real estate projects preferred
Technical Skills
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts, and project delivery methods
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore, or similar)
• Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and cost tracking
Leadership & Soft Skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive accountability
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Success Measures
• High stakeholder satisfaction and effective communication
• Projects delivered on time and within budget
• Compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards
• Effective risk mitigation and issue resolution

Working Model: Hybrid (#LI-Hybrid)
We have a balanced hybrid working model to ensure you get the flexibility you need, and the successful candidate will spend their time between working in the office and working from home.
Salary Range:
$95,600 - 162,400 USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
