Role Overview
The Consultant will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data-driven reporting and analytics solutions using Power BI. The role requires strong technical expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and advanced analytics, along with the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable and performant BI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Reporting & Dashboard Development
- Design, develop, and deploy interactive and visually compelling dashboards using Power BI.
- Ensure dashboards meet business requirements, usability standards, and performance expectations.
2. Data Modeling & ETL
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data using Power Query and other tools.
- Develop robust and scalable data models to support reporting and analytics needs.
3. DAX & Advanced Analytics
- Develop complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs to support advanced analytical requirements.
- Optimize calculations for performance and accuracy within Power BI models.
4. Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support decision-making.
5. Data Governance & Security
- Ensure data integrity, quality, and consistency across reports and dashboards.
- Implement and maintain Row-Level Security (RLS) and manage access controls within Power BI Service.
6. Performance Optimization & Support
- Monitor and optimize existing reports for performance, scalability, and usability.
- Troubleshoot data, performance, and visualization issues in Power BI solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience
- For internal applications - 24 months as Associate Consultant
- 8-10 years of experience in Business Intelligence / Data Analytics roles.
BI Tools
- Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power BI Report Server
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in:
- SQL
- DAX (Data Analysis Expressions)
- Power Query (M language)
Data Platforms
- Experience working with relational and/or multidimensional databases such as:
- MS SQL Server
- Azure SQL
- Snowflake
Key Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective stakeholder communication and requirement translation
- Attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
