We have a balanced hybrid working model to ensure you get the flexibility you need, and the successful candidate will spend their time between working in the office and working from home.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develops and executes engaging content for Northern Trust Wealth Management that can be tailored as appropriate across multiple platforms, including thought leadership, lead generation campaigns, sales collateral, social media, digital marketing, media relations, video production, client communications and internal communications.
2. Partners with marketing leaders, subject matter experts and business stakeholders to provide input on communication messages, marketing direction and creative execution.
3. Monitors and analyzes performance of content strategy through metrics, ensuring the content aligns with corporate brand messaging and business objectives, and adjusting as necessary. Ensures content is effectively distributed across platforms.
4. Collaborates closely with subject matter experts to translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable and client-focused content.
5. Interacts with all levels in the organization to produce desired materials.
6. Ensures consistency of messages and brand through all communications globally.
7. Develops strategic partner marketing relationships and programs to achieve measurable impact.
8. Stays up-to-date with wealth management trends, competitive positioning, content marketing best practices, SEO and AI/LLM search optimization.
9. Independently, with supervision in only the most complex situations, works across the Marketing team to communicate measurable objectives and execute defined communications and content priorities.
10. Provides guidance and mentorship to team members while helping to solve complex problems.
11. May lead functional teams or projects.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
- In-depth understanding of communications and content strategies within financial services or wealth management.
- Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex financial, investment and planning topics for sophisticated audiences.
- Experience developing content for varied channels/platforms including websites, social media, email, digital campaigns, video and podcast.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Adaptability to adjust content strategies based on market trends and performance.
- Knowledge of wealth management, investment management, financial planning, estate planning, family office services or related disciplines is highly preferred.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with SEO, content discoverability and AI-driven search optimization strategies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with advanced verbal, written and presentation / communications skills.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
- Requires 5 - 8 years of working knowledge and experience in own job discipline.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism and/or Finance related field is highly preferred.
Salary Range:
$114,700 - 194,900 USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
