Northern Trust is seeking a Regional KYC Operations Manager to provide senior leadership and oversight of all AML and KYC activities delivered from Limerick.

The role sits within the enterprise First Line of Defence (1LOD) AML function and operates as the senior Limerick based AML leader, partnering closely with Global AML Leadership, Compliance, Risk, Audit, and business stakeholders.
This position is accountable for the strategic leadership, governance, and performance oversight of AML/KYC onboarding, periodic reviews, event driven reviews, and client exits, ensuring delivery meets global and local regulatory requirements, internal policy standards, and enterprise control expectations.

Role Overview


The Regional KYC Operations Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of AML/KYC service delivery from Limerick, including strategy execution, capacity planning, and regulatory readiness. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction for KYC operations in Limerick, ensuring alignment with Northern Trust’s global AML strategy, regulatory expectations, and enterprise risk appetite.
  • Act as the accountable owner for AML/KYC services delivered from Limerick, ensuring appropriate governance, controls, escalation mechanisms, and management oversight.
  • Oversee end-to-end KYC delivery across onboarding, periodic reviews, event driven reviews, and client exits.
  • Ensure consistent, high quality KYC reviews across all teams, meeting agreed SLAs, KPIs, quality standards, and regulatory expectations.
  • Maintain accountability for AML risk associated with services delivered from Limerick, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, mitigated, and escalated appropriately.
  • Ensure compliance with global AML regulatory requirements across all jurisdictions supported by Limerick based teams.
  • Partner closely with Compliance, Risk, Audit, and Legal to support internal audits, regulatory examinations, and assurance activities.
  • Oversee implementation of regulatory change impacting KYC processes, ensuring timely, consistent, and effective adoption.
  • Provide oversight of workload distribution, capacity planning, and resourcing to support business growth, regulatory change, and volume fluctuations
  • Ensure effective issue management, root cause analysis, and sustainable remediation of control gaps or performance issues.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor KYC leaders, including Team Leads and equivalent roles, building a strong leadership pipeline.
  • Set clear performance expectations, objectives, and accountability frameworks for management teams.
  • Drive talent development, succession planning, and retention strategies for critical KYC roles in Limerick
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex, high risk, or sensitive KYC matters.
  • Represent Limerick AML operations in global governance forums, senior leadership committees, and regulatory driven initiatives as required.
  • Support global initiatives to enhance AML/KYC operating models, technology adoption, and process efficiency. to end AML/KYC delivery across onboarding, periodic reviews, event driven reviews, and client exits.


The ideal candidate should have a fair amount of the following skills & experience:

  • Extensive experience in AML/KYC operations within financial services (5 years plus)
  • Deep expertise in AML/KYC regulations, global regulatory frameworks, and industry best practice.
  • Strong understanding of AML/KYC operating models, governance frameworks, and first line risk ownership.
  • Proven senior leadership capability with strong people management and talent development experience.
  • Experience engaging with auditors, and senior compliance stakeholders preferred.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution capability and operational discipline.
  • Strong risk management mindset with the ability to manage complex issues.
  • College or university degree and / or equivalent relevant professional experience
