The Associate – Infrastructure Automation Engineer supports the development and execution of infrastructure automation to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and consistency across enterprise platforms.
This role exists to assist in reducing manual operational effort by contributing automation scripts, modules, and workflows within established enterprise automation frameworks and standards.
The role operates within a centrally governed automation enablement model and works under the guidance of Sr Associate, Lead, and Sr Lead Automation Engineers.
The Associate focuses on execution‑oriented automation tasks, learning enterprise automation practices, and contributing to platform and lifecycle automation initiatives while adhering to defined architecture, security, and governance guardrails.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain automation scripts, modules, or workflows using approved tools and frameworks (e.g., Ansible, AWX, AAP).
Support automation of infrastructure activities such as provisioning, configuration, patching, and basic lifecycle tasks.
Modify and enhance existing automation under guidance to improve stability and efficiency.
Assist with troubleshooting automation failures and basic production issues.
Participate in testing, validation, and deployment of automation solutions.
Support break‑fix activities and documentation updates for automation deliverables.
Follow established enterprise automation standards, patterns, and security requirements.
Maintain accurate documentation for scripts, workflows, and operational procedures.
Work collaboratively with automation engineers, platform teams, and operations.
Build technical skills and progressively take on more complex automation responsibilities through mentoring and hands‑on exposure.
Skills & Experience
Basic to intermediate experience with automation or scripting (Python, PowerShell, Shell).
Basic Understanding of infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, AWX, AAP, Terraform, or equivalent.
Foundational knowledge of Windows and/or UNIX/Linux platforms.
Familiarity with version control concepts (e.g., Git) is preferred.
Willingness to learn and adapt to enterprise automation practices.
Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
2–5 years of infrastructure, scripting, or automation‑related experience.
