Role:
The job involves working as SME in a team for a Global Derivatives Process, specializing in administering end to end life cycle of the derivative instruments. The position requires good experience and back ground in financial markets and derivatives product.
Knowledge & Skills
The candidate should possess the following skills:
Good working knowledge of Derivatives Products.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
A good team player – ability to work and adapt to large teams
Excellent interpersonal skills for liaising with related departments, brokers and IM’s.
Should be capable of understanding various control checks.
Sound knowledge of the financial markets, instruments and back office functions.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities may include, but may not be limited to, the following;
Act as a subject matter expertise for the process: allocation and manage the volume assigned, assists others (troubleshooting ) to complete their work in time. Ensure allocated partners are well aware with the Process Timelines, Escalation Protocol and display sense of urgency when dealing with critical queries.
Zero tolerance to errors and deviations from established procedures in performing tasks (including review and approvals) in respect of assigned partners to achieve 100% process quality and accuracy
Thorough understanding of overall business model and impact of various sub processes on the business.Produce timely and accurate management reporting, EOD reports etc.
Demonstrate awareness of team’s activities and actions may potentially be damaging to the Northern Trust business, its clients, and/or financial markets
Ensure Process Documentation (DPADs, Checklists, Process Maps, etc.) is up to date and is in line with EO standards.
Perform Operational control review for assigned areas: review of processes migrated in recent past, compliance to CASS rules, aged break management, BCP stress test etc
Being an SME, strives to enhance processes and procedures and work towards improving quality and efficiency. Continuous improvement, in regard to organizational quality and performance, focuses on improving client satisfaction through continuous and incremental improvements to processes, including by removing unnecessary activities and variations.
Deploy relevant training to staff around 'Quality' and encourage them to explore opportunities for improvement
Identify Process improvement and automation opportunities. Assist and monitor team projects till logical conclusion
Focus on identifying and meeting Client needs in the most effective way. Bespoke or any deviation in the current procedure should not be introduced in the process unless the Client Impact, Downstream impacts are ascertained and mitigated
Understand in detail the types of process specifications/ quirks that exist in the process and demonstrate the same. Understand what these specifications/ quirks mean from a service/business perspective and the potential implications on an internal and/or external client. Ensure processes remain ‘fit for purpose’ and continue to effectively support both existing and new clients, IM’s, Brokers, Products and Services.
Take full ownership of allocated sub process/project and ensure all road blocks are cleared/escalated to ensure no impact to client delivery
Lead planning and execution of the project/program including coordination with the relevant stakeholders. Apply knowledge of function-wide and operation specific policies and procedures that support assigned goals and objectives of the project
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience):
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
Work experience in financial industry: 4 years minimum.
Managing multiple stakeholders in Bangalore, Chicago and Melbourne would be the key expectation from candidate, hence prior exposure would be given a preference
This role is for NA shift and candidate should be flexible to work in NA shift for foreseeable future.
Candidate should be flexible to work in Pune as a work location.
Extensive knowledge and experience of derivatives products is required. Experience in Exchange traded Derivatives is desired
Strong problem solving skills, detail and results oriented.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint presentations.
Excellent spoken and written English and the ability to handle business correspondence.
Sound knowledge of the financial markets, instruments and back office functions.
Demonstrate high ethical standards.
Proactive and capable to handle multiple tasks under extremely time sensitive conditions.
Good understanding of trade economics related to various financial product transactions is an addition.
Candidate should be willing to work in a 24*5 environment

24 Months as a Senior Analyst to move as an Associate Consultant
Movement within TC and Associate Consultant will be 12 months
