Job Description Summary

As an Accounting and Data Services (ADS) Client Consultant, you will be responsible for the accounting/reporting component of key client relationships. As the main ADS contact for these clients, you will be responsible for client communication regarding reporting, managing small projects, process improvements, participating in client meetings, tracking KPIs, and maintaining internal documentation. Consultants are also assigned to New/Additional Business events and will serve as the ADS lead throughout the transition.

  • Acts as first point of reference for client inquiries

  • Provides accounting consulting guidance both internally and externally

  • Serves as a liaison to related areas and helps facilitate monthly close cycle

  • Carries out relatively complex, extensive, high-profile activities e.g. direct interaction with top revenue clients and more senior management

  • Focuses on technical and reporting knowledge, building toward becoming a subject matter expert

Working Model: Hybrid

We have a balanced hybrid working model to ensure you get the flexibility you need, and the successful candidate will spend their time between working in the office and working from home.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

  • Strong working knowledge of reporting and products

  • Client facing experience with the ability to present detailed concepts

  • Excellent oral and written communication

  • Proven analytical, consultative, and problem-solving skills

  • Organized and able to manage time and meet deadlines

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office tools

  • Must reside in or near Chicago and be able to report into the office three times weekly (Choice of days is flexible)

  • Willing to travel to client visits

Salary Range:

$66,700 - 113,300 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
