Role
Clearing and Settlement - Operations
Ability to think strategic and scalable business solution.Responsible for reviewing current process and related support materials, ensuring that due procedure is followed, look at opportunities for improvement of the process and controls, understand the gaps in the process, resolve queries from client and other stakeholders, liase with onshore, should have expertise in financial Products like Equity, Fixed Income, Futures, Options, ADR, Warrant, CMO_Tranche etc.
Principal Responsibilities
Process Management
- Manage end-to-end trade lifecycle support for hedge funds across asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income, Listed Derivatives) from trade date through settlement date
- Perform daily clearing and settlement operations including trade affirmation/confirmation, allocation checks, matching status monitoring, and timely resolution of unmatched trades.
- Ensure proper handling of market-specific settlement rules (cut-offs, holidays, local regulations, T+1/T+2 differences) and maintain a market calendar / controls framework
- Analyse and identify discrepancies between client’s position and clearing agents with strong troubleshooting skills
- Cash and Position reconciliation to ensure all the activities processed are correct and break resolution as necessary.
- Taking ownership for all the deliverables being sent out by the team with proper review checks.
- Ensuring back-ups are in place for a smoother process flow in case of absences in the team.
- Liaison effectively with team members, internal groups and external counterparties to resolve discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner.
- Should be able to handle critical queries/issues and escalate on a timely manner.
- Should be capable of adding and reviewing various control checks.
- Understand and minimize risks associated with breaks and trade mismatches.
- Understanding the settlement of cash flows associated with various financial instruments.
- Respond quickly and accurately to queries in a high volume, time sensitive trading environment.
- Developing action plans for resolution of outstanding issues.
- Ability to work on ad-hoc activities.
People Management –
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and timely feedback sessions to support team engagement, motivation, and professional growth.
- Foster a positive team environment by addressing employee concerns promptly and ensuring appropriate planning of team time-offs and well-being initiatives.
- Allocate work effectively, optimize resource utilization, and drive continuous process efficiencies while maintaining strong operational performance.
- Collaborate closely with onshore teams to support migrations, knowledge transfer, and seamless transition of activities.

- Strong knowledge of financial products like Hedge funds and its underlying investments like Equity, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Repo, etc.,

Experience
- Candidate to have at least 10+ years of experience in hedge fund accounting/Operations teams especially with 4+ yrs of exclusive experience in confirmation, Clearing and Settlement.Must be techsavy.
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Accounting, Finance or a quantitative discipline. Masters’ degree would be an advantage.
