Hedge fund services- Associate consultant

Role
The job requires working for a Global Hedge Fund Administrator, specializing in administering assets of complex hedge funds. This individual will have a strong Technical and Accounting background, experience working within the Financial Services industry. This position involves working with Investor Accounting team.
Major Duties
- Production and Review of monthly/quarterly funds and business entity closing summaries for Fund Administrator
- Preparation and Review of investor allocation/PnL distribution to the investors
- Calculation and Review of Incentive Fee and Management Fee
- Working on Hedge funds and private equities
- Investor statements preparation and distribution
- Knowledge of financial products like, Equity, Derivative instruments, IPO, etc.
- Interact with clients and other Hedge Fund Administrator teams to obtain information
- Prepare financial highlights and shareholders statements on quarterly/annual basis.
- Acting as a subject matter expert for the team
- Helping team members in resolving their queries and issues
- Prepare training materials and conducting/taking lead in training for existing and new
team members
- Escalate issues that fall outside normal resolution timeframe
- Consistently look to streamline and automate the reporting/analytical process with the
use of technology
ACCountabilities
- Employees are required to comply with the regulatory regime in which Northern Trust operates as appropriate to the above role
- Employees are expected to exercise due care and diligence, ensuring the areas, the incumbent is responsible for, are organised and controlled
- Employees are required to observe proper standards of market, business and personal conduct, demonstrating integrity in the execution of duties
- Reports to TL/ Section Manager
Skills
- Self-starter with the ability to function independently in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding environment
- Strong knowledge of Financial products like Equity, Derivatives, TRS, REPO, etc.,
- Strong knowledge in preparation of Financial statements
- Strong problem solving skills, detailed and results oriented.
- Ability to evaluate priority and multi-task with minimal supervision
- Excellent spoken and written English and the ability to write Business correspondence
- Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel and Word)
- Ability to address internal and external audiences in a professional manner
- Ability to work effectively with project teams and clients
- Demonstrate high ethical standards
- Time management skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Accounting, Master degree a plus
- A minimum of 4-6 years of Accounting experience (Associate)
- Experience with Hedge Funds, Investment Management and/or Financial Services strongly preferred
- Experience of Investor accounting will be an added advantage
- Excellent English, grammar, written and oral communication skills
- Adaptive, flexible style with the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
