Who we are looking for
The Senior Technical Business Analyst role is a hands-on, business-to-technology role integral to both the Charles River and State Street Alpha platforms. The candidate must have excellent communication, hands-on project management skills, a high technical aptitude, and resource forecasting capabilities to properly plan and execute roadmaps across both internal platform teams and the products who consume the tools. This role will work side-by-side with Technical Team Leads, Platform Product Managers, Developers, and internal stakeholders to oversee the assignment, execution, and delivery of initiatives that enhance the CRIMS and Alpha platform.
Working across multiple engineering teams for initiatives that target different strategies, the Senior Technical Business Analyst will manage the day-to-day work of the .NET-based Charles River IMS frontend framework team and collaborate with the web-based frontend framework team on its strategic migration to the web. This role will also triage, analyze, and prioritize incoming issues for other areas of the platform.
The Senior Technical Business Analyst will work closely with other areas of the organization such as Architecture, UX, and Infrastructure, solidifying the application platform with a world class user experience, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery satisfies their requirements. The BA will also work with vendors and third parties to procure services that may enhance the platform’s capabilities.
The BA will assist PMs in managing their product backlogs, ensuring engineering teams are taking full advantage of their allotted capacity. The BA will also provide guidance and mentorship to other BAs within the Platform department on career development, performance, engagement, and professional development.

The team you will be joining is part of the Charles River Investment Management Solution (CRIMS), a market leader in providing a comprehensive end-to-end investment management platform covering front, middle and back office. The Charles River IMS platform offers portfolio management, compliance, order and execution management, post-trade processing, data provisioning and management, performance measurement, as well as other key capabilities important to the investment lifecycle.
What you will be responsible for
Lead the design, resourcing, and execution of the CRIMS/Alpha Platform’s strategic initiatives.
Thoroughly understand Charles River IMS frontend framework and architecture to manage the delivery of work items and to ensure their quality.
Represent the application platform from a product standpoint to understand priorities, available resources, and timelines.
Gather and document requirements from internal & external parties (design, engineering, partners, vendors, etc.) and work with Product and Engineering leaders to prioritize and deliver based on company objectives and strategies.
Create and manage cross-team initiatives that leverage resources from many different teams and expertise – including engineering, business, QA, support, and cloud operations.
Be able to and willing to present to a wider internal & external audience for reviews and decision making.
Ensure the delivery, documentation, and training of the initiatives’ deliverables.
Maintain relationships with several key stakeholders and executives from requirements to delivery.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in product management, business analysis for software systems.
Experience working with C#/.NET development teams on managing and delivering highly complex solutions with multiple dependencies.
Detailed-oriented, hands-on, roll-up-your sleeves, no-task-too-small mindset.
Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent, and/or other work experience in a technical setting.
Strong familiarity with cloud technology solutions.
MBA preferred.
Experience in Financial Services is preferred.
Experience working with remote teams.
Strong UI/UX skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong contributor with high motivation, with the ability to take initiative, set priorities, and perform tasks with minimal guidance.
